There was a reason Lisa wasn't worried about his 'missing' wife. If his wife was missing, that meant she wasn't really missing. Even as a child, his wife would snoop around in places she shouldn't, leading her into dangerous scenarios where she would come out perfectly fine.
If Jane could do that as a child, then what more as a grown-up? Moreover, if this situation was truly an emergency, then Mark wouldn't be idling outside the department. Even so, Lisa was curious. This was the first time his wife visited the company, and thus, he was curious about what she was doing.
Why did she go to the art department in particular? Was there a deeper reason behind it? Did she find it odd that some people from the art department quit when Lisa reviewed all LYON Group employees? Which explained the workload left in the said department?
Myriads of thoughts hovered over Lisa's mind, stretching his neck as he discreetly searched his wife in the art department.
"CEO Manoban!" Just then, the head of the art department skidded in front of Lisa. "Good day! I am sorry if we couldn't welcome you properly..."
The head of the art department trailed off as his eyes veered to the man a step behind Lisa. Deep lines appeared on his forehead, darting his eyes between Lisa and then at the man who also looked like Lisa.
"Huh?" The balding man blinked, rubbing his eyes as he thought he was having hallucinations.
Since the changes in the company, the art department has taken a huge blow. Many of the employees in the department left the company. Therefore, everyone who was left behind had to take on the unfinished projects and workload of those who left the company. The head of the art department was almost overworked, and thus, he wouldn't be surprised if he was seeing or hearing things.
When he snapped his eyes at Eric again, the department head blinked hard once again. But no matter what, there were two Lisa Manoban in front of him.
"Pfft --" Eric couldn't help but chuckle at the balding man in front of his cousin. "You're the head of this department, are you?"
"Uh... yes." The head cleared his throat as he gazed at Lisa once again. "Uh... CEO Manoban?"
Lisa glanced down, only to see a blading man in front of him. He cocked his head to the side, wondering when this old man appeared in front of him.
"Ahem!" Jisoo cleared his throat aloud to get everyone's attention. "Allow me to introduce the head of the art department. Mr. Yang, I know you're confused. But this man right here is the new member of the board, Director Eric Manoban. He is the CEO's cousin."
The head of the art department, Mr. Yang, had his mouth parted as he rocked his head. So that man was the new director of the company? And also their CEO's cousin? But why did he look like the CEO so much? Mr. Yang almost thought he mistook someone else as the CEO. That was how Eric and Lisa resembled each other.
"Ahh... he he. I see." Despite the many other questions in his head, Mr. Yang just laughed awkwardly. "Anyway, I'll take you around the department...? Mr. Manoban?"
Mr. Yang furrowed his brows as he looked at Lisa, only to see Lisa staring in a direction with narrowed eyes. When Mr. Yang followed where the big boss was looking, all he saw was a person carrying a mountain of papers. They couldn't see the person behind as the papers were past the person's height, making his heart tingle at how the papers wobble with the person's every step.
"It will fall," whispered Lisa, and as if he was a fortune-teller, the papers the person was carrying fell on the side.
"Ah!"
"Aish!" Mr. Yang clicked his tongue as he watched the papers scatter on the floor, revealing the newcomer who had just arrived today.
Jennie.
Unbeknownst to Mr. Yang, as he almost had a heart attack at this errand girl's mistake, some people in the group looked at Jennie with surprise. Except Lisa, Jisoo, Eric, and Bobby looked at her with mixed emotions.
What was the young madam doing here?
"Goodness! I told her to deliver it to another office, but why does she have to carry all of them?!" Mr. Yang nearly bit his tongue as he realized the big bosses were just around him. He looked back at Lisa and smiled nervously.
"I'm sorry about that, CEO Manoban. She's a newcomer, so she still hasn't gotten used to her way around here." Mr. Yang lowered his head slightly before rushing to their new errand girl. As soon as he reached Jennie's side, Mr. Yang whispered yelled. "Errand girl, what are you doing?! Can't you read the room? Why are you carrying all those papers and causing such a mess?"
Jennie was still carrying half of the papers, unable to pick up the rest without putting all these papers down. She turned her head to Mr. Yang, pursing her lips into a thin line.
"But it's more efficient to carry them all at once instead of going back and forth." She lowered her head when Mr. Yang hissed at her like a snake, but the latter stopped as he realized people were looking.
"Goodness." Mr. Yang clicked his tongue. "Just take those papers back and pick up all of this. Of all times you're going to make a mess, you chose this time when the higher-ups are here."
"Higher ups?"
"Yes!" Mr. Yang lowered his voice as he leaned to her side. "If you don't want to get fired on your first day, then listen to me. Take those papers back to your desk and then pick the papers here. I'll help you in a bit. I'll distract them first."
Jennie looked at Mr. Yang with conflict. Why did he have to make it sound like the higher-ups were the ultimate villains? Jennie mentally shook her head and then turned it. The moment she did, her eyes fell on her husband standing in the distance.
"Ahh..." The corner of her mouth instinctively turned into a grin. Lisa also smiled until his eyes were squinting. "... so handsome –"
"Hey!" Jennie flinched when Mr. Yang tugged her arm slightly. "Don't smile like a pervert. That man is your boss's boss's boss, and he's married!"
Jennie pouted at Mr. Yang. "Boss, I am a woman at my prime, you know? Admiring such a handsome man is a natural reaction. It's not a sin."
"Tsk. This girl —"
"I agree with her." Mr. Yang almost choked on his own breath as Lisa's voice sounded close. When he turned his head, Lisa picked up a handful of papers from the floor before uncurling his back. "I worked hard to look the way I am, and I'd be hurt if my charms didn't affect a woman in her prime."
"Hehe." Jennie giggled, casting Mr. Yang a look. "See, boss? Even your boss agrees with me."
