Meanwhile...

"You can do it, Dad! Woot woot!" Lucas cheered his father from the corner of the therapy room, warranting everyone's attention. Some medical staff couldn't help but chuckle while Marco shook his head.

Ever since Marco started doing therapies, there was never a time when his youngest son was absent. Not that he was complaining, but somehow, it was embarrassing. Lucas was always so loud, as if cheering in a World Cup.

"Mr. Manoban, come. Let's do it again," said the physical therapist to the man in the wheelchair, holding the man's arms.

"Alright."

"Go Dad ~!"

Marco let out a sigh as he shook his head once again. He winced as he held the therapist's arm, clasping it tightly to stand up. Drops of sweat immediately broke out on his forehead and back, but for his recovery, he had to do it. At the back of his head, he didn't want Jevin to carry the burden of being the cause of Marco's physical disability.

"Hay..." Lucas let out a deep exhale, smiling proudly at his father. His father was truly a man worthy of admiration. Even now, Marco was working hard to recover for his family.

Bzzt! Bzzt!

Lucas's brows rose as he felt a vibration in his jean's back pocket. Taking it out, Lucas furrowed his brows upon seeing his assistant's number in it.

"Geez. I told them not to contact me when I'm with my dad." He clicked his tongue in irritation, tapping the red button to ignore the call.

It had been months since Lucas had returned to his company. But despite that, he prioritized his father's health. There was nothing serious going on on his side, after all. Therefore, accompanying his father in his therapies and sometimes tagging along with Jennie in her checkups and Jevin's were a part of his official schedule.

His own staff should know he was doing an official business!

Bzt! Bzt!

"Tch." He hissed once again as his phone vibrated again. Checking, it was his assistant. "Just which part in the 'don't bother my family time' don't they understand?!"

Miffed, Lucas marched to the corner to answer the call. His face was grim as his lips were curved down deeply.

"What?!" His annoyance clearly laced his voice, immediately signaling the person on the other end of the line that if this call wasn't important, he would lose it.

Lucas's irritation was short-lived as his eyes slowly dilated. He instinctively held his breath, heart thudding, and lips parting.

"What?" he gasped. "My sister... my sister is going to give birth?!"

*********

As soon as Butler Fu realized Jennie's water broke, he didn't waste time rushing her to the hospital. Amid that, he instinctively calmed the situation. After all, Irene Bae pressed the wrong button as it immediately sent emergency signals to people — to tons of people.

"Young Madam, are you okay?" Butler Fu inquired as soon as they reached the hospital, assisting her to sit in the wheelchair.

Jennie didn't seem to be in pain or any of the sort. If anything, she seemed confused and blank.

"Yes," she whispered as soon as she plopped her butt down on the wheelchair, looking back at Butler Fu as the man wheeled her in. "Strangely, I'm not in that much pain."

"That's good." Butler Fu offered her a reassuring smile, picking up his pace until he saw a group of doctors rushing in their direction.

Butler Fu slowed down until the group of doctors reached them halfway.

"How was the madam?" asked the head OB-GYN to Butler Fu, and then down to Jennie.

"She said she's alright and not much in pain."

"Alright." The doctor smiled and nodded, keeping her cool, as this was a normal situation. "We'll take her from here. Did you already tell CEO Manoban?"

"Yes. He's on his way."

"Alright. He can come in anytime to support the young madam's delivery. One of the residents will wait for him."

"Yes." Butler Fu lowered his head. "Please take care of the young madam."

"Of course."

With that brief exchange, the group of doctors wheeled Jennie to the labor room for check-ups. Jennie seemed to have a high pain tolerance, as she didn't seem in too much pain. If anything, she seemed just a little confused.

Things happened so fast that no one wasted a second. The only person who wasn't in the move was the person who was about to give birth, Jennie.

Jennie didn't even know what happened next after Butler Fu and her OB-GYN's exchange. All she could remember was that they talked for a bit, and then they took her to a room. In that room, her doctor checked how far her child was through an internal examination.

She heard she was already 6 centimeters.

To be honest, Jennie didn't understand it fully. Everything just happened so fast that she failed to catch up. All she knew was the slight contraction she was feeling, and the mixed emotions swelling in her chest.

'I'm really...'she winced as her next contraction felt more painful than the last. '... am I really going to see my baby?'

"Ugh..." Why does it hurt so much?

Jennie did a lot of reading months ago and she knew labor could be very painful. It scared her a bit, but then, she couldn't help but underestimate the pain. She was shot in her previous life and almost lost her life, but she managed.

It wasn't that painful. Therefore, she was surprised that every contraction felt like hell. It was as if all the veins in her body were exploding, and that her stomach was twisting in the most painful way.

"Ugh...!" she screamed, rolling on her side with her hand on her stomach. "Help...! My baby!! Ugh! I think it's coming!!"

Her vision shook as she gasped for air. She could see movements around her bed, but their voices were muffled. At this point, she didn't even know where it hurt. This pain... was something she never felt before.

Was this normal? Would it supposed to hurt this much? This much? Would her baby be fine?

As her screams grew louder, Jennie suddenly felt numbed, while her body felt heavy. Her eyes felt heavy as well, but it wasn't enough for her to lose consciousness.

"Hah..." she blinked weakly as she felt her bed getting wheeled somewhere else. "My baby..."

Through her blurring vision, she caught a family figure rushing to her side. 'Ah...' she thought, raising her hand weakly.

'Good thing he's here. Lisa, help me... the baby... it hurts...'
