Tiger was the last person Lisa thought would 'console' him. To be fair, Lisa didn't think he needed some word of advice from one of his laziest bodyguards. However, for some reason, Tiger's advice worked. Instead of blaming himself, Lisa used that time to settle some matters.

Kim Jisoo was injured, but all of them were from a rough ride. Therefore, Lisa took his assistant's job to settle some matters. What happened concerned countless deaths, after all. Fortunately, Butler Fu was there to assist him. Lisa didn't wait for any news from the doctors about his wife and son's condition, but he planted people he could trust to look after their wards, including his parents' wards.

Meanwhile...

"Mhm..." Jennie moaned and winced slightly. Her entire body felt sore, but her hand instinctively caressed her stomach. "Baby..."

Jennie had her eyes partially closed before they snapped open in panic. The baby! She was about to sit up, only to feel the end of something pressed against her shoulder. When she turned her head, she caught Grandma Manoban holding her cane to press her shoulder down.

"Little Jennie, I told you not to sneak out." Grandma Manoban huffed. "Don't worry. Miraculously, the child is holding on tightly. It's safe... for now. But the doctors said you need a bedrest, so don't move around."

Jennie's body stiffened, staring at Grandma Manoban with slight surprise. "The baby... is safe?"

"Yes, fortunately." Grandma Manoban retrieved the cane from her shoulder, sighing. "I heard what happened, and it's a surprise that the baby is healthy despite what you went through."

"Thank God." Jennie's eyes softened as her body relaxed on the bed, hands on her tummy. "Oh, God... thank you. Thank you... Thank you...:"

A thick layer of tears coated her eyes as she repeatedly thanked whoever she should thank for keeping her baby safe. She knew she risked her baby's life to rescue Jevin. Her guilt, however, didn't come from shame for risking the baby's life. It was the other way around. Jennie never regretted stepping in the middle of the fire to save Jevin. Selfish as it may sound, she couldn't lose her son.

"It seemed your child understands you," said Grandma Manoban, watching tears trickle down in Jennie's temple. "You can only make up to your child once it is born."

The corner of Jennie's lips curled up slightly. "Yes," she breathed out. "I will surely shower her or him with love to make up for everything I did tonight."

"What a reckless child." Grandma Manoban shook her head mildly but still maintained a subtle smile. Meanwhile, Jennie stared at the ceiling for a moment before a thought crossed her mind.

"Grandma, how's Jevy?" she asked, turning her head to the side. "Is he okay?"

"Jevin is fine... somehow. Thanks to Marco, the only injuries he got were a few fractured bones, which can heal with rest. Though he might need therapy to walk normally again."

"Walk normally...?" Jennie's breath hitched as she kept her gaze on Grandma Manoban. "Did he...?"

Grandma Manoban nodded. "He broke his foot from the car accident, but Grandma already hired the best physician to do his therapy. Once he is much better, he can start."

"Jevy..."

"Child." Grandma Manoban leaned forward, planting her hand on Jennie's chest. "Jevin is a strong-willed child. Although it is unfortunate that this happened, we should be glad he is still alive. I am certain he will be fine. What I am more concerned about is how this would affect him psychologically."

Jennie pressed her lips into a thin line, staring at Grandma Manoban with bitterness in her eyes. However, Grandma Manoban was right. Jevin was a strong-willed child, and her son had proved that time and time again. Having to do therapy was much better than losing him completely. With the guidance and love of his family, he would walk again properly.

"When Lisa was abducted, I thought he would never speak again," Grandma Manoban shared, earning Jennie's attention. "It took him years before he spoke to anyone again, and I'm afraid this will happen again to Jevy."

"I'll be with him." Jennie smacked her lips mildly. "For sure. Me and the baby will be there for him."

"You should."

"Grandma, how about Lisa? How was he?"

"Your husband is busy at the moment." Grandma let out a deep exhale as she leaned back, closing her eyes mildly. "He'll return once he settled some matters. What happened is a pure disaster..."

Grandma Manoban trailed off as she blinked ever so slowly. "Little Jennie, think of your child and rest well. Grandma will be a little busy in the following days. So, I might not come here for a while."

"Where are you going?"

"Meet some people." Grandma Manoban offered her a subtle, warm smile, nodding at her encouragingly. "Don't worry and focus on your recovery first. You've done enough for this family."

Grandma Manoban leaned forward as she reached for Jennie's hand. She held it with both hands, tapping the back of it gently.

"Thank you for everything, Little Jennie." She nodded at Jennie approvingly. "Let Grandma and Lisa handle the rest. You did your best, and now it's our turn to do everything for a better aftermath."

Reluctance shone in Jennie's eyes, but she ended up nodding. There was nothing she could do now. Jevin was already out of danger, and thus, she had to think of her other child now. Lisa would surely settle everything, as he had always done.

"Yes, Grandma." She smiled, making Grandma Manoban smile in satisfaction.

"Very well." Grandma Manoban reached for the hem of the blanket, pulling it up over Jennie's chest. "You should rest for now and don't think about anything else for now."

Jennie nodded again, closing her eyes ever so slowly. She could feel the old madam's gentle hands stroke her hair, lulling her to sleep until she slowly drifted back to sleep. As Jennie's breath grew deeper, Grandma Manoban's smile faded until it disappeared from her face.

"These children..." she whispered witha faint sigh. "... I feel bad for all of them."
