BANG BANG BANG!
"Damn it!" Jennie roared as she picked up her pace, creating a distance from Lisa and Lucas who were carrying the children.
Both men couldn't fight back, knowing running while carrying the children and keeping in mind Jevin and Riley were injured would stress the children's injuries. All they could do was make sure not to stress the children's injuries and watch Jennie fight the enemies that were coming out of nowhere.
Hadn't they finished everyone on their way here? How about Mark? That guy stayed behind. Did he die? That's why these enemies were coming from the direction they came from. Myriads of questions invaded Lisa and Lucas's minds, but Jennie couldn't entertain such thoughts at the moment.
Her fierce back told them so.
"Stay out of my way..." she breathed out in a shaking voice, emptying the rifle as she riddled the walls with bullets to create smoke. As soon as the smoke rose up, she threw the empty rifle and picked one on the way. Jennie slid to her knee, rolling on the floor with her back on the floor. She gazed up, pulling the trigger continuously.
"Hah!" she huffed as she rolled to her stomach, wincing as she felt a slight knot in her tummy. However, she didn't stop as she jumped to her feet, picked up the nearest gun she could reach, and led the way. Jennie kept a safe distance from Lisa and the children, knowing she couldn't allow Lisa to fight with her.
Jevin was with him. She had to make sure they would get out of there without stressing her son's existing injuries. After all, she would never forgive herself if Jevin would have to live handicapped. It was the same for Lisa. Lisa had to swallow the bitterness rising up to his throat and watched his pregnant wife clear the path for them.
Lisa was supposed to be the one doing that, but...
'This is not the time for this,' he mentally yelled at himself, shaking his head as he refocused his attention on the path ahead.
Jennie was still fighting fiercely, taking down men without a second hesitation. She would once in a while wave at them, telling them it was safe to go. And thus, Lucas and Lisa had to do their best to keep up with her.
BOOOM!
Halfway through their way out of the underground, Jennie, Lucas, and Lisa paused as the surface trembled. They spread their legs to keep their balance, holding their breaths to process what had just happened, and then gazed up at the ceiling.
BOOM!
"Ah!" Lucas yelled this time, almost losing his balance as his back crashed against the wall. Despite that, he held Riley tightly and securely, making sure the kid wasn't hurt. Meanwhile, Lisa maintained his balanced but his head was cocked back, eyes on the ceiling.
"Not good, " breathed out Lisa, sensing this building might collapse if the explosion continued. "Lucas, get a grip. We have to hurry — Lucas!"
Lucas snapped his eyes back to his brother, still confused. However, even though he was still bewildered at the situation, his instinct told him they had to make a run for it. They were still underground, after all. If this building collapsed, they would all get crushed to death.
"Jennie!"
Meanwhile, Jennie swallowed a mouthful as she saw thin cracks appear on the ceiling. When Lisa called, she turned her head back to them.
"They will bury us all alive!" she howled, feeling another striking pain in her stomach which she endured. "Run faster!"
Lisa and Lucas picked up their pace while Jennie ran off before them. This time, she was much faster and more agile than before, clearing his mind of any doubts and emotions. All they had in mind was to get out of this place as soon as possible.
"Mark!" Upon making a turn, Jennie caught a familiar figure running in her direction.
Mark's eyes shone brightly upon catching Jennie's figure getting out of the hallway. "Behind you!" he yelled before positioning his rifle and aiming at the person on the other end of the hallway.
Mark's steps skidded, waiting for Jennie to duck. When the latter bent her back backward, Mark didn't hesitate to shoot the target.
BANG BANG BANG!
Jennie took another deep breath as she straightened her back, knees bent all the way down. As soon as she stood up straight, Lisa and Lucas came out of the hallway she came from. This time, the two reached Jennie, who was staring at Mark.
"I found another exit!" Mark announced as the three stopped once again, but his eyes were fixed on Jennie. "I'll lead the way and you stay at the back. We don't know who is behind us."
"Go." Jennie breathed out, jerking her chin. She then cast Lisa a look. "I'll stay on the back now. I'll stay close, don't worry."
"Come fast!" Mark lifted his rifle to his shoulder, eyes burning with urgency. "It seemed bombs were also planted around the building --"
BOOM!
"They will bury us alive," he continued, unfazed by the sudden tremor caused by another loud explosion. "And whoever is behind this wanted to make sure of that."

BOOM!
Tiger paused as he arched a brow, cocking his head back upon seeing a cloud of thick smoke and fire from the corner of his eyes. The enemies surrounding him also stopped in confusion, eyes in the direction where the first explosion had happened.
BOOM!
"What's going on?" an enemy mumbled aloud, confused.
This question, however, also got Tiger's undivided attention. Tiger glossed his eyes over his enemies' faces, dropping the man he held beat up mercilessly.
"You guys..." Tiger furrowed his brows, watching them look back at him. "... that's not part of your plan?"
"Huh?" No one gave him any clear answer, but upon casting him a look, it reminded them they were trying to take this monster down. "You! Do you think you can —"
Tiger leaped, somersaulting his way to the person who raised a shotgun at him. In a blink of an eye, Tiger grabbed a hold of the shotgun's body, tilting it up until its muzzle was pointing at the other man opposite him. His finger slid on top of the man's finger that was on the trigger, helping the man pull the trigger to shoot himself in the chin.
BANG!
Everyone froze once again, taking a careful step back as their comrade fell. The latter released the shotgun as his lifeless body limped, leaving it in Tiger's grip.
"This is enough." Tiger's face carried no emotion whatsoever, blood across his face. "You guys... let's continue this next time. It seemed someone wanted to hit two birds with one stone, and we'll all get buried alive if we stick around."
Tiger snapped his eyes ever so slowly, scanning his enemies. "What? Do you want to continue and get buried alive?"
The enemies looked at him fearlessly, not even considering the man's suggestion. However, when another explosion was heard and the ground they were standing on shook, they looked at each other as their determination waned. He was right. This wasn't part of their plan, and they would share the same fate if they continued fighting.
