After an hour of driving, Tiger pulled up in a luxury residence driveway. He glanced at the front passenger seat to see the fancy entrance of the building, nodding in approval, as if it was a place fitting for someone like Irene Bae.
"Thank you for the ride, Mr. Captain." Tiger looked back when Irene spoke. "Surprisingly, I feel much better now."
Irene pressed her lips while the corner of her mouth curled up. She tilted her head down slightly before she reached for the door. However, she stopped when Tiger spoke.
"Before you go, Miss Bae," she looked back at him as he trailed off, brows furrowed. "Give me your hand."
"My hand?" she cocked her head to the side, watching his arm sprawl and open his palm. Baffled, Irene still moved her hand to him.
"Not that one," he said, pointing at her other hand. "That one."
"Why would you want to see my hand?" she wondered out loud but still handed him her other hand. The second his fingers clasped her wrist, he tugged it slightly to take a closer look. Irene flinched at his action, only to realize he was staring at her arm.
"What are you doing?" she asked, but Tiger only turned on the lights to see better.
When light spread inside the car, her eyes fell on the hand he was staring at. At that moment, she realized that he was looking at the red handprint on her arm.
"I knew it," he said, lifting his naturally lazy eyes to her. "I noticed it already in the parking lot where we saw you. I didn't think much about it, but did you say you came from that motherfucker's office?"
Mother, what?
Irene bit her inner lip as she pulled her hand from his grip. She instinctively covered her arm with her other hand.
"Mr. Captain, it's okay." She forced a suitable smile. "This is nothing --"
"So, Eric did that?"
Irene held her breath as she held Tiger's lazy gaze. It didn't seem he was angry or anything. He was probably just curious. After all, even if Eric did hold her to the point, his print left on her skin, that was none of Tiger's concern.
"Yes," she confessed under her breath. "Yes, he did. But that's fine. He's already a disappointment, not surprising. But I learned my lesson tonight that that scum is hopeless."
"I see." Tiger offhandedly rocked his head in understanding. His lack of reaction told her she was correct; he was just curious.
She forced a smile again. "Thank you for the ride again." She tilted her head down slightly, keeping her parting remarks short.
Irene didn't idle inside the vehicle, departing it without wasting a second. When she closed the door, she didn't immediately get inside the building. She faced the car and offered a slight bow, standing in the same spot as she watched the vehicle speed away.
"He's surprisingly kind," she murmured, letting out a short chuckle. "Where did Lisa find his security? I doubt that jerk Jisoo chose them on his own. Mr. Captain has all the qualities Jisoo dislikes from a person he would work with."
Another wave of chuckle slipped past her thin lips, turning on her heel as she walked inside the building. The heaviness in her heart somehow disappeared, making her think getting that free ride was the right call.

[LYON GROUP HEADQUARTERS: UNDERGROUND PARKING SPACE]
"Hay..." Eric sighed, dragging his feet to his car while loosening his tie. "That bitch really knows how to get on my nerves."
He clicked his tongue in irritation, feeling a little woozy as he had a few glasses of his favorite whiskey. Eric planned to celebrate tonight for gaining a position in the Lyon Group. However, Irene's visit left a bitter taste in his mouth. Therefore, instead of celebrating, he drowned himself tonight to wash down the irritation Irene left in his heart.
"That stupid, ungrateful bitch..." he muttered, tossing his briefcase on the roof of his car. He stood beside his car, swaying back and forth as he searched for his keys. "Where did I put them?"
His hand groped his pockets, shaking his head to get rid of his dizziness. "Huh? Why are they missing...?" he trailed off as he squinted his eyes, turning at the lights that were flashing at him.
When Eric turned back, he felt instantly sober at the speeding car coming straight to him. Alcohol slowed down his reaction time, disabling him from running to a safe place. The car stopped before it could hit him, though. Eric lowered his arm from shielding his squinting eyes, but the lights from the other car were still on high beams.
"Who..." he trailed off as he saw a person coming out of the driver's seat. He tried to see who it was, but the lights were flashing straight at him and he could only see the man's silhouette approaching him.
"Hey," he called. "Who are you, and what do you want?"
"Drunk driving is not good."
Eric squinted his eyes as he gazed at the man standing before him. Deep lines resurfaced on his forehead, remembering the face of the head of the security.
"What do you —"
"What I mean is, you should stay until you're sober, Director Manoban." Tiger lowered his head, retrieving his hands from his pockets. "It's not good if you drive while under the influence of alcohol."
"Hah." Eric let out a short chuckle as he turned around to his car. "That's none of your business —"
Before Eric could finish his sentence, his face slammed against the car's window. A loud grunt escaped his mouth, gasping for air as he felt a hand grab his back collar to pull him back. Tiger turned him around aggressively, slamming Eric's back against the side of the car.
"Which one?" Tiger asked, stilling Eric with his arm across the man's chest. "The hand you used to grab her?"
"Huh?" Eric was confused, but his confusion didn't last long as a punch landed on his stomach. He hunched in pain, losing his breath for a second.
"Well." Tiger shrugged indifferently, holding Eric's back collar as the man hunched in. "I guess it doesn't matter which one. I can just break both of them."
Following that remark was the echoing sound of Eric'sagonizing grunts as Tiger romanced him all night.
