Blood dripped from an open wound in my arm where one of the vile creatures had cut me.
But I didn't care, I didn't care about anything except for the person my senses were laser focused on.
There was nothing on my mind besides finding her.

The only reason the darkness and wetness that seeped through the cold walls even crossed my mind was because I knew that they weren't making this easy for her.
I knew that she was strong but the longer I took the bigger the chance got that she wouldn't be .....
That she wasn't alive anymore because of the injuries she had inevitably sustained from falling into the labyrinth.
A sight I would never forget.

Even thinking about it felt so excruciating that I wanted to claw my own heart out of my chest.
I didn't know what I would do if all of this had been in vain. Before knowing her I had been better of on my own, but now that I knew what comfort felt like, now that I had felt the small sparks tingling my skin, I couldn't imagine going back to my old self.

But I knew that she was impossibly stubborn. Since meeting her I had gotten to know that she was harder to get rid of than weed. And right now I regretted ever pushing her away. I regretted hurting her ever but especially during the last week. If those had been the last words between us, if I didn't have the chance to answer her note, to tell her how much I hated seeing her title herself as only my student, I would despise myself.

So there was not a moment in which I faltered or even let myself feel the pain and exhaustion ripping through my body.

Because I knew for certain that she wouldn't even flinch.

Her scent had gotten stronger now, pulling me along a messy path throughout the whole labyrinth.

Each ghostly I encountered was decimated by my blades until finally her captivating scent got stronger.
I picked up my pace, running through the hallway while concentrating on the sweet scent of fruit mixed with a strong smell of iron.

Then with the small amount of eyesight my enhanced vision allowed me I saw a small body huddled in a corner.

For a moment the world was shred in silence before my heart started beating even faster than before. While crossing the last few meters it felt like it was going to jump right from my chest.

"Rora!" I yelled, hoping that she would tell me that she was fine. That my terror at seeing the unmoving body laying on the ground was unwarranted. I wanted her to prove to me that what I thought was wrong.

But she remained quiet.

When I dropped to my knees I didn't even feel the cold stone beneath me. Instead I felt her sickly skin. The hand that touched her icy cheek instantly felt cold as if the life was sucked out of it.

It couldn't be true.
My actions to awake her grew frantic.
I didn't know what to do with my life without her.

I shook her body harshly, thinking that it would bring her back to me.
"No, you have to wake up" I gasped.
