Late September

Hyunjin walked through the door, quickly met by a very happy JoJo.

"Hey." He said.

She stood there excitedly. "Hi!"

He chuckled. "You're happy."

As soon as he got his shoes off, she pulled him into the house.

"Look." She whispered, pulling him toward Juno's door.

Hyunjin peaked in. Juno was sitting on his bed with furrowed brows, writing intensely in his journal.

Hyunjin stepped away.

"Did something happen?" He asked.

"I don't know. He didn't say." JoJo said.

"You mean you didn't tell him to write-" Hyunjin started to ask.

JoJo shook her head.

Hyunjin grinned. He peaked back in proudly.

"He's actually doing it, baby." Hyunjin said, walking to the kitchen.

JoJo ran up behind Hyunjin and hugged around his waist. "I'm so proud of him. It's actually working." She said.

Hyunjin turned around and hugged her back. "Yeah. We're actually succeeding. We'll have kids who can express their feelings and think deep thoughts." He laughed.

"And it only took us making him do it about a million times... but at least he's doing it on his own now." JoJo smiled.

"Yeah. I'm really proud of him." Hyunjin smiled with a gleam in his eye. "He could've gotten angry or taken his feelings out on his siblings."

"Yeah. Chan said that's what you used to do." JoJo teased.

Hyunjin scoffed. "Only to Jisung..." he laughed.

JoJo giggled. "Although maybe we shouldn't be too happy because he's probably sad right now."

Hyunjin nodded. "Oh yeah. That's right."

"I wonder if he'll want to talk about what's going on later." JoJo said.

Hyunjin hummed. "Hopefully."

--That evening after the others were sleeping, Hyunjin knocked on Juno's door as usual.

But Juno didn't say anything.

Hyunjin knocked again.

Finally, there was a sigh. "Come in."

Hyunjin opened it carefully and tilted his head sympathetically. "Hey." He said, walking into the room.

"Hi, Dad." Juno said quietly, briefly looking up from his phone.

Hyunjin sat down on the bed and gently nudged Juno to put the phone down.

"Just a second." Juno said.

Hyunjin pushed himself back against the wall and crossed his legs as he waited.

After a bit, Juno put his phone down and stretched his neck.

"Something going on?" Hyunjin asked patiently.

Juno shook his head.

"No?" Hyunjin asked.

"Nope." Juno said.

Hyunjin hummed. "Okay, then what was the best part of your day?" He asked, as per usual.

Juno picked at his blankets. "Poppy made me a card at kindergarten today, and she was really proud of it when she gave it to me." He said.
