"Well, young man, who should we call? Your mom or your dad?" The principal asked in his deep and unwavering tone.

Wolf gulped. "My mom." He said.

The principal checked something on his computer. "There's no phone number listed for her."

Wolf started listing a series of random numbers.

The principal dialed it. . .

It rang and rang with no answer.

"Do you have a different phone number to reach her at?" The principal asked.

Wolf cleared his throat. "Umm." He said, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.

He couldn't think fast enough. He started listing off Mina's phone number, hoping she wouldn't answer.

She didn't. She usually didn't keep her phone on at work.

The principal was getting impatient. "I'll call the number that's on file for your dad." He said, picking up the phone again.

"No!" Wolf nearly shouted.

The principal set the phone down again.

"Please, don't call my dad. I will do ANYTHING. Just please don't call him." Wolf begged.

The man sighed. "It's a 3 day suspension. Your parent has to sign off on this and acknowledge what's happened."

Wolf huffed.

The principal picked up the phone again and began dialing.

"You don't understand. My dad will get so mad!" Wolf begged, imagining his fate.

"I'm sorry." The principal said sympathetically. "But you shouldn't have started a fist fight."

Wolf sank back in his seat, awaiting his doom.

Jeongin sat beside Wolf with a tired and disappointed glare as the principal explained everything.

He signed the papers the principal slided toward him, giving Wolf a fierce side eye as he did it.

They got in the car, riding silently for a few minutes.

Wolf looked over, wondering what was going through his dad's head.

"I didn't start the fight." Wolf said.

"It looked like you did on the security camera." Jeongin hummed with a not-so-subtle disappointment.

"He said my mom was probably stupid!" Wolf spat.

Jeongin sighed. "So he started an argument?"

"Yes!"

"And then you punched him?"

"Yeah." Wolf admitted.

"And you pushed the teacher away when she tried to break up the fight?"

"It didn't register that it was her!" Wolf defended.

"I know you feel protective and sensitive about your mom, but you can't physically hurt someone for being a jerk."

"Why not?! He deserved it."
