"Can I come?" Juno asked excitedly.
Felix sighed. "Aren't you busy?"
"I don't have school! And I don't work Tuesdays!" Juno argued.
"Don't you watch your siblings while your parents are working during summer holidays?"
"I'll tell mom I'm busy!" Juno said.
Felix hummed.
Juno gave his best puppy eyes. "Pleeeeease take me. I've never gone there or done volunteering before!"
"I've never gone there either, I don't know what it's like, that's why I don't want to take you." Felix sighed.
"Uncle, please. I'll behave so well. Like an adult. The entire time. Everyone will think I'm at least 25! That's how responsible I'm going to be." Juno begged.
Felix groaned. "Fine. Ask your parents."
----
"See! This. This is what you should be wearing. You'll be so much more attractive like this." Juno said as they walked to the large building to load relief supplies. (Of course, Juno was a minor, so he wasn't able to help without his parent's signature and various forms, which he didn't have.)
Felix huffed. "Junny, I don't wear this uniform to look attractive. We're here to help people. Focus." He scolded.
"I was just saying." Juno pouted."You look nice."
"Thank you. Sit beside the truck and don't go off anywhere." Felix sighed.
Juno nodded, sitting and watching as more volunteers with the organization came.
For the first time ever, his uncle Felix looked really cool to him. He had heard stories about his volunteer work, but he had never seen it in action.
He was some type of supervisor now because he had been helping the organization for a few years.
Felix opened the large doors to the warehouse. The truck backed up as close as it could get.
Juno went halfway inside, so he was carefully standing to the side of the truck, not getting in the way.
Felix stood with his clipboard, looking so experienced. Well, he had done this a lot of times, so Juno supposed it made sense.
"We'll need 500 of those, so we can start with them." Felix instructed, pointing to an enormous stack of boxes.
Juno wondered what was in them. All he knew was that they were relief aids for those affected by the wildfires.
