~Sunday morning after church~

"I just wanted to say, it was so nice of you guys to have Zoey over Sunday evening." Said Michelle, Zoey's mom.

Hyunjin smiled. "Sunday evening?" He asked innocently.

"Yeah. Last Sunday. Anyway, I really appreciate the gesture. It's nice for her to be able to get to know people here." Michelle said.

Juno spotted them across the room, a sudden panic hitting him. He quickly made his way closer so he could eavesdrop.

"Oh. Maybe I'm losing my mind. I don't recall." Hyunjin said awkwardly, feeling terrible for not knowing what she was talking about.

"Around 8:00? Last Sunday." Michelle said.

"Oh! Oh.... You know... I think I was out of the house at that time... I'll have to ask Josephine." He said.

"Ohhhh." Michelle laughed.

Juno gulped. Of course... Neither of his parents were home on Sunday evening because that was their date night.

And as he stood there, feeling his stomach turn, knowing that his dad just clued in to what happened, he suddenly felt very sorry for not just telling him what was going on. Bad idea. It was a bad idea.

His dad turned around, walking toward him with a serious expression.

Juno smiled awkwardly.

Hyunjin didn't smile back. Instead, he quietly stood beside Juno, subtly holding his hand out. "Hand me your phone."

Juno bit his lip. Shoot. Now, he didn't even have an opportunity to erase any messages before his dad would look through it and confirm that he invited her to come on Sunday evening.

He reluctantly pulled his phone from his back pocket and placed it in his dad's hand. "Dad. I didn't do anything bad." He whispered.

"I certainly hope you didn't." Hyunjin said. "Go get in the car." He said, handing him the keys.

Juno pouted nervously and walked out to the car, but as he walked out, Zoey ran behind him.

"Juno, wait up!" She laughed.

Juno turned around, immediately smiling. "Hey."

"Hey." She laughed, smiling happily.

She looked perfect. Her curly auburn hair was in a low bun, with curls dangling loosely at the sides. Her green eyes lit up in the sun, somehow making her seem so vibrant and full of life.
