The soft hum of the hospital machines filled the room. It was late — past midnight — and the world outside was swallowed by silence.
Taehyung sat beside Y/N's bed, his elbows resting on his knees, head hung low. The harsh light from the monitor painted shadows across his face — tired, pale, and sleepless. His fingers gently brushed over Y/N's hand, tracing her knuckles again and again, as if the motion alone could anchor him back to reality."God, you scared me," he whispered, voice trembling slightly. "You have no idea how terrified I was. Don't ever do that again, love."
He leaned forward, pressing a soft kiss to her hand, then to her forehead. His other palm moved instinctively to her stomach, resting there with infinite care. "My babies... my brave girl," he murmured, his thumb stroking in small circles. "You three are my entire world, do you know that?"As if responding to his voice, Y/N's lashes fluttered. Slowly, her eyes opened — heavy, disoriented. The first thing she saw was the white ceiling, then the IV stand, the dull hospital light, and finally, Taehyung's face hovering over hers, relief flooding his expression the second their eyes met.
"Hey..." his voice broke into a small smile. "You're awake, thank God."
Her lips parted weakly. "W–Where..." Her words trailed as her gaze darted around. And then, instinctively, her hand went to her belly. The movement was desperate, trembling. "My babies..." she whispered, her voice cracking, "Taehyung... my babies?"
He caught her hand instantly, holding it tight. "Shh," he soothed, leaning closer, his voice tender but firm. "They're safe, love. The babies are safe. You're all okay. I promise."
Tears slipped from the corners of her eyes, her chest heaving in quiet sobs of relief. "I thought I lost them," she whimpered.
Taehyung kissed her forehead again, his own eyes glistening. "Not on my watch. You three aren't going anywhere."
A fragile silence settled before he spoke again, carefully. "Y/N... about what happened—Ryujin..."
She blinked, her brows furrowing slightly."She lost the baby," he said quietly, his tone heavy, cautious. "The doctors said... the baby didn't make it."
Y/N froze. Her breath hitched, eyes flickering with shock. Guilt, anger, confusion—all of it rippled across her face. "She..." Y/N's jaw clenched. "Taehyung, she pushed me. She—she almost killed me and our babies!" Her voice trembled, part fury, part disbelief. "And now she—"
"I know," Taehyung interrupted softly, but his voice carried quiet steel. He cupped her cheek, forcing her to meet his eyes. "I know what she did. And believe me, I'm angry too—so much that I don't trust myself to see her right now." He swallowed hard, brushing his thumb across her skin. "But she lost her child, Y/N. Nothing you or I say can punish her more than that. Please... don't hold onto revenge. Not for her. Not while our babies need peace."
Y/N looked away, silent, her expression unreadable. Her fingers clutched the blanket tightly, knuckles white. The fire in her eyes said everything words didn't.
Across the corridor, another storm was brewing.
Ryujin woke up in the recovery room, the dim light flickering above her. Her vision blurred for a moment before reality crashed in.
Her hand moved instinctively to her stomach — flat. Still. Empty.
The machines beeped steadily beside her, cruelly calm against her breaking heart. Then came the scream.
A raw, guttural cry that ripped through the walls."NO!" she wailed, gripping her stomach with trembling fingers. "My baby—where's my baby?! Where's my baby!"
Nurses rushed in, trying to hold her down. "Miss Ryujin, please, you need to rest—"
"Get away from me!" she shrieked, tears blinding her. "Bring me my baby! Where is my baby!" Her cries echoed like something wild, something torn apart.
