Six months somehow slipped by in a blink, even though every day felt like a story of its own. The late-night cravings had Taehyung driving across the city at 2 a.m. for strawberry ice cream and that one specific brand of pickles she swore tasted different. Mornings brought waves of nausea; he would hold her hair, rub soothing circles on her back, and mumble against her temple, "Our baby already loves torturing me, huh?" And at night, when he thought she was asleep, he would rest his cheek on her belly and whisper promises—parks, fairy lights, lullabies—his voice so soft it made her chest ache. The moment neither of them would ever forget happened on a quiet Tuesday: Y/N gasped, grabbed his wrist, and pressed his palm to her bump. A tiny flutter met his hand. Taehyung's eyes went wide, then glassy. "Our baby's saying hi," he breathed, kissing her belly while she laughed through her tears.

That afternoon, they sat hand in hand in the doctor's office for the monthly checkup. The monitor hummed; the room filled with a steady, miraculous rhythm. The doctor's smile warmed. "Everything looks wonderful. And—congratulations—you're expecting twins."

"Twins?" Y/N echoed, eyes flying to Taehyung.

He let out a broken laugh and kissed her knuckles again and again. "Baby... twins. We're really having two."

"Would you like to know the genders?" the doctor asked gently.

They nodded together, breath held.

"One boy and one girl. Congratulations."

Tears spilled before Y/N could stop them. Taehyung kissed her forehead, her cheeks, the corner of her smile. "A prince and a princess," he whispered, a little wrecked. "You just gave me the whole world."

That evening, they dressed for Taehyung's business party. Y/N's sleek gown hugged her new shape; she glowed and he knew it. His hand never left the small of her back as they moved through the crowd—part pride, part protection, all love. They'd barely settled at their table when a small voice tugged her attention.

"Unnie, why is your tummy so big?"

Y/N turned to a little girl—six, maybe—with eyes like saucers. She smiled. "Because there are babies inside."

The girl gasped, clapping her hands. "Babies?! Really?! Can I touch?"

"Of course, sweetheart." Y/N guided the tiny palm to her bump. The girl squealed when a soft kick met her hand. "It moved! It moved!"

A slightly older boy rushed over, catching the girl's wrist. He bowed, earnest and mortified. "I'm sorry, ma'am. She disturbed you. It won't happen again."

The girl tugged his sleeve and stage-whispered, "Babe, she has babies in her tummy. Did she eat them?"

Taehyung choked on his drink. Y/N burst into laughter, covering her mouth.

"Wait," Taehyung managed, eyes narrowing in disbelief, "did you just call him babe?"

"Yes!" the girl beamed. "He's my boyfriend."

The boy turned scarlet but squared his shoulders. "She's... not wrong."

They fled hand in hand, mortification and pride battling on the boy's face. Y/N leaned into the table, laughing until tears pricked her eyes. "Oh my god, Tae—'She's not wrong'—that poor kid!"

Taehyung did not laugh. He slid his palm over her belly, thumb stroking in slow, protective arcs. "Will my princess also be like this?" he muttered, then shook his head decisively. "No. Absolutely not. I'm not allowing her to date. No meeting boys. Not happening."

Y/N giggled, nudging his shoulder. "Relax, Mr. Overprotective. Even I had a boyfriend when I was a kid."

His head snapped to her. "What?"

She bit back a grin, leaning closer. "It was you, Taehyung. You were my kindergarten boyfriend. Remember the playground wedding?"

He tried to keep his scowl, failed, and settled for a grumble as he tugged her closer. "That's different. You're mine, and our daughter is never having a 'boyfriend'—not even a playground one."

She kissed his cheek. "Protective girl-dad already. Noted."

"Well, well... isn't this a surprise?"

The laughter drained from Y/N's throat. Jimin stood a few feet away, Ryujin on his arm. Four pairs of eyes locked. Ryujin's gaze dropped to Y/N's bump, shock flickering across her face—then Y/N noticed Ryujin's own belly, round and high. Eight months.

"Congratulations," Jimin said smoothly, a practiced smile curving his mouth. "Twins, right? I heard when you announced the pregnancy—seems the news travels fast."

Taehyung's arm cinched around Y/N's waist. "You always did keep your ears where they don't belong," he said, voice flat.

Jimin's smile sharpened. "Or maybe I just pay attention to important milestones."

"Important to you?" Y/N asked, lifting her chin. "Why?"

A beat. Jimin held her gaze, then shrugged lightly. "Old habits." His eyes slid to Taehyung. "Congrats, though. Truly."

Ryujin's fingers tightened on his sleeve. "Jimin, let's not—" She turned to Y/N, forcing a small smile. "Congratulations, Y/N. Really."

"You too," Y/N replied softly, eyes dipping to Ryujin's bump. "You look... almost there."

"Two weeks," Ryujin said, a flicker of nerves showing.

Jimin exhaled through his nose, eyes never leaving Taehyung. "Fatherhood suits you, Kim. Try not to glower at every man in the room tonight."

Taehyung's mouth twitched, not quite a smile. "Only the ones who earned it."

"Then I suppose I'll take my glower and stand over there," Jimin said lightly, tilting his head toward the bar.

"Good idea," Y/N said, sweet as sugar. "The babies kick when the noise gets annoying."

For the first time, Jimin's smile faltered. Ryujin tugged again, firmer. "Let's go." They turned; Jimin paused just long enough to glance back, something unreadable in his eyes, then let himself be led away.

A small thump nudged beneath Taehyung's palm. Y/N's breath hitched. "Did you feel that?"

He stilled, then grinned—soft, astonished, entirely gone for them. "Our son's practicing. Our daughter agrees." He kissed her temple, lingering. "Ignore the rest of the room. It's just us."

Y/N curled her fingers over his, covering their babies with both their hands. "Just us," she echoed, and for a moment the crowded hall blurred into nothing but the four of them.
