The cold marble floors of the Jeju Police Headquarters echoed under Taehyung's sharp shoes. His expression was unreadable, his aura deadly calm — the controlled fury of a man who had once burned an entire station to the ground without blinking. Guards straightened up instinctively as he passed, fear cutting through the air like electricity.

The Commissioner, an older man with silver streaks in his hair, stepped forward with a conflicted sigh. "Taehyung... I heard everything. I'm glad your wife and babies are alive."

Taehyung offered him no smile, no warmth. "Tell me what you've found."

The Commissioner led him into his office. Files were spread across the table. He slid one forward — the forensic report.

"Xander Kim died one hour before your wife even entered the suite," he stated. "Time of death confirms she couldn't be the murderer."

Taehyung didn't react outwardly, but his fists tightened. "Good. Then she's clear."

"No," the Commissioner interrupted with a heavy reluctance. "She's still the prime suspect."

Taehyung's jaw tensed dangerously. "Explain. Before I lose my patience."

The Commissioner rubbed his temples. "Someone intentionally deleted the hallway CCTV footage from the fifteen minutes before and after your wife entered the room. We only have the camera that shows her going in. To the court, that looks damning."

Taehyung's eyes darkened to a terrifying shade of black. "So someone framed her."

"Yes," the Commissioner confirmed. "And Taehyung... you made a huge mistake." He sighed. "Those officers you killed? They were our only link. They could've been interrogated, revealed who planted them. You burned a key evidence to ashes."

Taehyung leaned forward slowly, voice low and lethal. "Those animals beat my pregnant wife. If I hadn't arrived, my children would be dead. She would be dead. So no — I don't regret killing them. They deserved worse."

The Commissioner swallowed. Even he needed a second to steady his nerves. "Fine. I understand your rage. But now we have less to work with. We need a suspect. A motive. Anything."

Taehyung's eyes flashed. "Song-hee. Find her."

The Commissioner paused. "Why her?"

"She vanished the moment Xander died," Taehyung stated flatly. "And she always wanted me. She hated my wife. She's unstable. She had access. And jealousy is a strong motive for murder."

"We'll issue a search and arrest warrant," the Commissioner responded, writing swiftly. "But until then, you must keep Y/N away from all of this. Her condition is still fragile."

Taehyung stood. "She will not hear a word. I'll protect her. And my children."

When he returned to the hospital, the atmosphere softened instantly — Y/N sleeping peacefully, the soft glow of the NICU lights visible through a distant window. Both families were gathered around the waiting room, playing small games with each other, forcing laughter to keep away fear. Mrs. Lee and Mrs. Kim were folding tiny clothes they bought at a baby boutique in town, whispering about how small the twins were.

Taehyung entered silently. Their parents immediately noticed the heavy storm brewing behind his composed eyes. But he only said, "The investigation is moving. Don't worry. Just... stay with Y/N."

Later, a nurse approached with a gentle smile. "Mrs. Kim needs to start pumping milk today. It will help the babies get stronger."

Y/N flushed instantly, embarrassed, but Taehyung was already adjusting the pillows behind her back, acting like this was the most normal task in the world. "Tell us what to do," he said, voice soft only for her.

The nurse guided them. The machine hummed to life and Y/N gasped quietly at the odd sensation. Her cheeks were burning in humiliation, but Taehyung's hand wrapped around hers reassuringly.

"It's okay, angel," he whispered. "You're amazing. You're feeding our children."

A tear slipped down her cheek — overwhelmed by everything. He wiped it gently with his thumb, eyes filled with awe. "Thank you... for fighting so hard," he murmured, pressing a kiss to her temple.

When the milk finally pooled into the bottle, Y/N stared at it — her first gift to her babies. Taehyung looked just as emotional, holding the bottle like it was a priceless treasure.

Parents from both sides clapped quietly, celebrating a tiny victory in the chaos.

As the nurse took the bottle to the NICU, Taehyung leaned down and gently kissed Y/N's knuckles, allowing the mask of CEO Kim Taehyung to fall away for a moment. Here, he wasn't a billionaire, not a feared man, not a monster in the world's eyes. He was just a tired, terrified husband — hopelessly in love with the woman who almost died.

He rested his forehead against her hand. "Everything will be okay. I promise you, love. I'll tear the world apart before I let anyone hurt you again."

Y/N stroked his hair, voice soft and weak. "I trust you, Tae."

His heart cracked open completely.

Outside the room, unseen through the hospital corridor window — two detectives walked past, holding a photo of Song-hee.

The hunt had begun.

But Taehyung didn't know that the woman capable of destroying everything... was already far closer than anyone expected.
