"You must go to her, Song-hee. Now." Song-hee's father's voice was sharp, cutting through the silence of the opulent drawing-room. "Beg if you have to, but you will get the Xander shares. You are carrying his heir, and that gives you leverage. Do you understand?"
Song-hee's hands trembled as she clutched the edge of her silk dress. "But father... after all this time? I don't even know if she will listen to me."
"She will listen," her father insisted, his eyes cold and calculating. "The world thinks Xander's assets are tied up. But Xander's parents, Y/N's aunt and uncle, left everything to their niece, Y/N, before they passed two years ago. Every last share of Xander Corporation is registered in her name. Only her husband, Kim Taehyung, knows this secret. It's a goldmine, and you, my daughter, are holding the key." He leaned closer, his voice dropping to a harsh whisper. "Go to her. Play the grieving mother, the innocent woman. Get those shares."
The sleek, silver private jet sliced through the clouds, a luxurious bubble of peace far above the world's worries. Inside, Kim Taehyung watched, an adoration so profound it was almost painful, as his wife, Y/N, gently rocked one of their newborn twins. Their life, once a whirlwind of danger and high-stakes drama, had settled into the infinitely more tender, exhausting, and utterly fulfilling rhythm of parenthood.
"Are you sure you don't want to try feeding Eva, my love?" Y/N whispered, her eyes softening as she looked up.
Taehyung immediately moved from his plush seat, kneeling beside her. "I've got this little man," he murmured, taking the other twin, who was swaddled tightly, into his arms. "Besides, I know how much you enjoy the quiet time with your daughter." He kissed the top of Y/N's head, inhaling the familiar, comforting scent of her hair and baby powder.
This was their new normal: flying with two nannies on standby, the jet's master suite converted into a nursery, their luggage filled mostly with onesies and miniature shoes. Their twins were their world. They exited the private jet at Gimpo with a meticulously orchestrated grace that only two people accustomed to the global spotlight could manage.
Taehyung, effortlessly handsome in a tailor-made coat, held one car seat, while Y/N, radiating a soft, maternal elegance, held the other. The image of the two of them, stepping into the arrival area with their precious cargo, was the perfect portrait of a powerful and fiercely private family.
They were headed straight for Taehyung's parents' home. "Mother insisted," Taehyung had explained with a loving eye-roll. "She said you've done enough for seven months and it's time for her to take over the caregiving. Plus, our bedroom is probably already fully converted into a baby sanctuary."
He wasn't wrong. As they pulled up to the grand, yet welcoming, Kim residence, the four parents were out on the portico to greet them: Mr. and Mrs. Kim and Mr. and Mrs. Lee. They erupted in cheers and applause, their joy palpable.
Inside, the house was a masterpiece of hurried, loving preparation. The master bedroom ( taehyung's room before marriage), where they would stay, was transformed. A pair of antique white wooden cots stood side-by-side, draped with sheer, moon-patterned netting.
Little stuffed animals were perched on every surface, and the scent of lavender and baby lotion hung in the air.
That evening, the family—the two couples and the new parents—gathered in the sprawling living room. The twins, full from their latest feeding, were sound asleep in a double cot placed securely in the middle of the room. A soft, contented buzz filled the air.
Mrs. Kim, her face alight with the glow of grandmotherly pride, finally turned to her son and daughter-in-law. "We've all been dying to know," she announced, clasping her hands together. "We didn't dare give them temporary names! What beautiful names have my grandbabies been given?"
