"When anyone called me "sweetheart" it was passive-aggressive at the bar. And the bitch was telling me to back off 'cause her man had looked at me wrong."
"Damn, this place is crowded." Taylor commented to Abigail as they made their way into the bar.
"It's a New York bar on a Saturday night." Abigail replied. "I'd be surprised if it wasn't crowded as hell."
Together, they made their way over to the actual bar so they could put in their orders. They both just started off the night with two vodka cranberries. They got comfortable in their seats as the bartender made their drinks and brought them over.
"So, how's single life treating you?" Abigail asked, moving her straw in circles around her drink.
Taylor shrugged. "Fine."
"That didn't sound very convincing." Abigail replied.
"I mean, I'm glad there's no drama and stuff like that. But, I don't know." Taylor sighed. "I guess I just miss having someone to kiss and hold, and come home to."
"Yeah, I get it." Abigail replied. "But I think this is good for you. Give yourself time to heal and then try again."
"Yeah." Taylor nodded. "You're right."
"I always right." Abigail shrugged with a smirk and Taylor chuckled, shaking her head.
"Alright. I've gotta go to the bathroom. I'll be right back. Watch my drink?" Abigail asked and Taylor nodded, bringing the drink closer to her. Abigail hopped off of her stool and made her way to the bathroom.
Taylor just sat there quietly, bouncing her foot up and down to the rhythm of the music. People around her laughed and danced and she just stood there invisible, which felt pretty nice, considering who she was.
Suddenly, she felt a hand on her shoulder and she looked over. Standing in front of her was a shorter woman with brown hair and dark skin.
"Uhm, hello." Taylor smiled politely, although she was a little confused, especially 'cause this woman didn't look happy with her.
"What do you think you're doing?" The woman asked, a mean tone to her voice.
"Uhm, what do you mean?" Taylor asked, furrowing her eyebrows.
The other girl huffed. "I mean that my man has been looking at you ever since you walked in here and you need to back off." She said, pointing over to a booth a little ways away towards a guy with short black hair, defined muscles, a chiseled jawline, and a nice trimmed beard. He clearly looked shy and embarrassed at the current situation, as he was refusing to look their way.
"Uhm, I have never seen that person before." Taylor furrowed her eyebrows.
"Well he's certainly seen you before." She rolled her eyes. "I don't care if you're Taylor Swift," she started, and Taylor's eyes widened briefly.
"Oh, sweetheart, don't think I didn't recognize you. I know you probably need another man to write your cheesy songs about, but my man will not be one of those. Don't mess with me and back off, sweetheart."
