Summary: it's Taylor's birthday, and unlike normal, she doesn't seem to be as happy or excited for it this year. Travis tries everything he can to get her in the birthday spirt but comes up empty every time. So when he comes home after running a quick errand and sees her crying on the couch, he decides that enough is enough.

Travis let out a soft groan as his eyes gently fluttered open and sunlight poured in from the windows. He sighed and rolled over onto his side to see Taylor curled up, facing away from him.

They fell asleep with Taylor sprawled across his chest, but she must've rolled away from him on accident in the middle of the night, since Taylor's mentioned multiple times how she always prefers to sleep with Travis' chest as a pillow instead of an actual pillow.

Travis gently slid towards Taylor, trying not to jostle her. He laid his arm across her waist, pressing his chest into her back.

He lifted his head to look over Taylor's body to see what time it was. Only 7:00 am? Damn.

Deciding to let Taylor sleep for as long as she wanted, Travis dropped his head against the pillow and sighed. Today was a special day, Taylor's 36th birthday!

If there's anything that Travis knows(and loves) about Taylor, it's that she loves her birthday.

Last year she was very adamant to get to bed early so that her birthday would come sooner, which ended with them in bed at eight o'clock. This year was a little different. They didn't actually get in bed until eleven, and when they finally did. Taylor was fine with staying up and talking to Travis, even though he was about to pass out.

They eventually both fell asleep though. And thankfully Travis already made sure Taylor's birthday was all in order so he didn't have to get up extra early. He paid Kumar and gave him an extra key so he could get in and make Taylor favorite breakfast for his birthday so that Travis didn't have to get up and risk waking her(not like he could cook, anyway)

At around eight-thirty, Travis' phone vibrated from the nightstand and he gently turned over so he could grab it. He saw the text from Kumar saying that he was done and everything was cooked and Travis replied and set his phone back down on the nightstand.

He turned back over to Taylor to get comfortable again and Taylor started to stir, grumbling.

It took a few seconds before Taylor was rubbing at her eyes and opening them, looking into Travis' eyes.

"Hey, baby. Happy birthday." Travis smiled, leaning down to give Taylor a soft kiss on her temple.

Taylor just groaned, cuddling into her blanket and closing her eyes again. "'M tired." She mumbled.

"I bet." Travis nodded. Taylor rolled over and buried her head into Travis' shoulder, sighing.

"Baby, are you almost ready to get up? I have a nice breakfast waiting for you downstairs." Travis said, rubbing Taylor's back in circle repeatedly.

"Mm, well, I don't smell smoke and there's no smoke stains so I'm guessing you didn't cook." Taylor replied.

"Okay, first of all, ouch. Second of all, correct. I had Kumar sneak in and told him what to make. He finished and left just a few minutes ago." Travis replied, trying to sit up a little straighter but not succeeding since Taylor had latched onto him.
