Summary: The life you lived before isn't one that you're proud of. You tried leaving it and your ex behind, but your ex holds a deadly grudge. You flee to Lebanon, Kansas, with the hope of starting a new life, and it's there that you meet the infamous Sam Winchester. Just when you think you're free from your past, your ex comes knocking on your front door with a deadly proposition, and Sam gets caught in the middle.

Lebanon, Kansas is not what you pictured for yourself. The entire world, and Kansas isn't even in the top one hundred places you'd choose. However, it's discreet, and that's exactly what you need right now. When your ex, Stefan, comes looking for you, he's going to check the most lavish places first. Normally, you'd choose places of luxury, but you don't want that life anymore.
Well, you don't want it with him.
He's abusive, relentless, and a killer. You were once those things. You once followed him anywhere, killing anyone you two wanted. It didn't matter who they were or the kind of person they claimed to be; souls were souls. Human souls tasted so delicious when they were high on drugs or sex.
That's what you and Stefan did. You'd seduce humans for their souls, eat them when they were high, and kill them afterwards. That's normal behavior for a succubus and an incubus.
Now, you don't want that life. Stefan never understood why you were pulling back until you confronted him. He's pissed that you want something more than him, and you ran because he will kill you.
If he can't have you, no one can. That's what it seems like, anyway.
Maybe the quiet town will be good for you. It'll give you some time to think about the kind of life you want. As a succubus, you should want to consume souls. If Lucifer or Lilith ever found out you quit, they'd have your head. It's just not fulfilling anymore. Life has so much to offer, and it's lonely when you keep killing people for their souls.
Some demon you are. You're growing a conscience.
Kansas can either be the best thing to happen to you or the worst thing. It's a good thing you have enough magic to cloak yourself so that Stefan can't find you. After how you left things, you know he's pissed and wants vengeance.
In order to keep people off your radar, you need to blend in. What better way to do that than to get a job?
A local coffee shop is hiring, so you pull into the lot and check yourself in the mirror. After making sure your human form is perfect, you get out of the car and head inside the cafe. The place is crowded with people either drinking coffee or waiting for their orders.
"Welcome in, hun. What can I get for you?" the barista asks.
"I'm here about the hiring position? Hoping you haven't hired for it yet."
"We haven't. You're in luck. I'm also the manager, Shirley," she smiles.
"Look, I have no experience, but I am a quick learner. I hope that won't be a problem."
Shirley looks over the cafe and sees even more people walking in. She's been short-staffed for a while now, and she could really use the help. The no experience is tripping her up, but maybe it won't be so bad.
"How soon can you start?"
"Today, if you want some help."
"Okay, how about today is a trial day? I'll pay you, of course, but we'll see how you do today and go from there. Deal?"
