Pairing: Dean Winchester x Female!Reader
Word Count: ~3.4k
Warnings: just fluff
Summary: You're in your house minding your own business when you come across a man with such a bad gash in his side that you decide to take him in and care for him until he gets better. There, you meet Dean, and you two get to know each other as he heals. What you don't know until it's too late is that something is hunting Dean, and you've placed yourself in it's path.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dean runs as fast as he can through the dense woods, not caring if branches are smacking him in the face, or if his lungs are screaming at him to stop. He can't stop running because he can hear it behind him, and it is fucking fast.
If this thing catches Dean, he will die, and he's already at a disadvantage.
The creature got to him before Dean was able to escape, so Dean is running solely on adrenaline. There is a nasty gash in his side that's consistently gushing blood; he's gonna pass out soon, and he's rather do it where the monster can't get to him.
Dean makes the mistake of looking back to see how close the creature is when he trips over some rocks. He loses his balance and face plants to the ground, hitting his head on a rock.
That, paired with the gash in his side, is enough to knock him out.
The forest is never a quiet thing; there is always some kind of animal or insect that will make noise, but you prefer that to the busy sounds a city provides. Once you had enough money saved up, you bought some land in the forest and built yourself a nice cabin with panoramic windows and high ceilings.
It's your sanctuary.
This decision has made you happier than all the other ones, and you're glad you took the leap. You have a great job you can do remotely, and you love the solitude. No drama, no neighbors, and no HOA department. Yes, you have a car since you make trips into town often, but coming home to this is what makes every day worth it.
It's a nice day out today, so you decide to start it by walking to the nearby trails. Your three dogs—a Bullmastiff, a Rottweiler, and a Doberman—eagerly follow you outside without their leashes on. No one is ever out here to keep them from, and if there is, your dogs are very well behaved. Plus, you always keep their leashes hooked around your waist just in case you need them.
At first, the walk is peaceful, until all of your dogs start barking like crazy. They take off running into the distance, and you call out for them to come back to you.
They don't listen.
"Athena! Gigi! Lucy! Come here!" You whistle sharply, but they still don't come. "Damn dogs." You huff out in annoyance as you search for your dogs. They're all huddled around a figure on the ground. When you walk closer, you realize it's a man. "Shit."
You walk closer to the man who is lying face down on the ground. Your dogs are very protective and will protect you if this is a ruse to get you to go closer, so you have no issue with grabbing the man's shoulder. You push him over so that he's lying on his back, and that's when you see the front of his shirt is covered with blood, and there is a nasty cut on his head.
"Fuck." You lift up his shirt to see a nasty gash that stopped bleeding, but is red and angry. You reach over and press two fingers to his neck, and you sigh in relief when you feel a pulse. It's weak, but it's there. "Okay, stay here with him. I'll be right back."
Your girls obediently stay with the stranger while you run back to your cabin. You work out, but there is no way you can carry that man all the way back without collapsing. Since the area gets snow in the winter, you have several sturdy sleds that you and your dogs love using when the snow piles up. You grab that along with some rope before heading back outside.
