V. I Missed You.

JAKE STEPPED out of the closet first, realizing they couldn't open the other door back open from the inside. "Just don't look." He whispered, holding a hand to the back of Kie's back as the girl looked towards the walls, she was practically trembling. "Come on." He leads her ofer to the door, where she walked out first and he shut the door behind them.

After exiting the building, Jake looked all around as Kie's phone buzzed, so she took it out and raised it to see the messages. "What is it?" Jake peered over at the screen to see the dropped pin from Cleo, and the text saying: GROFF AND CROWN HEADING TOWARDS THE MARINA. He immediately rushed off, Kie following after him as she pockets the phone.

Jake stopped in his tracks upon seeing Groff ahead of them, "they should be around here somewhere..." Kie trailed off, lowering the phone to see where Jake was looking. The man had a dumb smug look on his face, slowly walking towards them and Jake reached into his pocket, ready to take iut the gun, when the man began running. "Call the others!" The Lennox ran off, and Kie followed, calling Cleo.

"We're tailing Groff! He's heading towards the big church in the square." She shouted into the phone as they ran, following after Groff. Jake had never ran faster in his life before, and he's done a lot of running, with all this treasure hunt bushit. When he reached the church, he turned to look at Kie, "please. Please stay here. I don't want you to see this, okay?" He said, his hands on her shoulders and she shook her head.

"No. I'm coming with you, please--" "Kie. There's no time. Just stay here, okay?" He raised his voice a bit before rushing over to the staircase leading up to the top. Kie stood there, a lump in her throat as she felt tears sting the back of her eyes. "Shit." Jake panted, before running up the stairs, all the way to the top where Groff was. He aimed the gun at Chandler, "wait! Wait! Wait." The man held up his hands.

"I'm unarmed. I'm not..." He was breathless, as Jake stood closer. "I'm not resisting." He adds and the Lennox glared. "Shut up!" He raised his voice, as Groff kind of flinched at the volume of his voice. "Jacob, please. Stop, please." He begs, lowering his hands. "Please. I'll give you the crown." He says, but Jake doesn't wanna believe that. In his head, Jake can picture himself stabbing Groff, killing him how he killed JJ, making him suffer the same fate that JJ had, but none of it was real.

"I... am a killer." Groff said suddenly. "Are you?" He asked and Jake gulps. "You're not." The man added. "You don't know me." The Lennox says. "I do. You won't give up the chance to see JJ again." He said and Jake breathed in deeply. "I said shut up." He says. "I have the crown. I have it. I'll give it to you. Just let me live." Groff begs, his hands raised again.

"Where is it?" Jake asked him and the man glanced over to the bag. "They say... you can see your loved ones again. They say... it can bring back the dead." Chandler says and then the bell began to ring, making Jake flinch and crouch down. When he looked up, Groff was over the railing and his eyes widen. "No!" He exclaimed, rushing over to see the man land onto the top of some sort of net.

"No..." He whispered, watching as the man climb down and look up at him before running off. He rushed over to the bag, opening it up to look inside, only to find it empty. "Fuck." He said, throwing the bag down onto the floor and running a hand over his messy curls.

"Hey, hey, what happened? Did you do it?" Kie asked when he got downstairs. "I need to find him. He jumped off." Jake rushed past her and she immediately followed him, all the way out to the middle of the church grounds where the structure with the net was. "No." He whispered, looking all around. "Fuck!" He screamed and Kie flinched, watching him spin around and look all over the grounds.

"Hey, Kie! Jake!" John B came running over to them. "No! No! John B, where is he? Where's Groff?" Jake asked, sounding angry. "Listen to me, I was going after Finch. I was going after Finch. He has the crown." The Routledge said, holding onto his arm. "And he went... he went over... the ledge." He tells him, glancing over to Kie for a split second.
