Still falling for you

Jungkook let his hair down as he laid on the roof of his car, he has been at the beach for the past hour.

He let the sounds of the waves fill his mind, he thought about nothing but only allowed himself to enjoy the breeze and the scenery.

A couple of minutes later, his alarm went off, it was time for him to leave.

In contrast to the confidence he expressed to his parents, once he started driving the nerves kicked in, he had to keep talking to himself so that he doesn't get overwhelmed.

About an hour later, he was approaching his destination, and he was feeling a lot more confident in his driving.

He was surprised by the number of people that showed up, it was a lot more than they had been informed , but none the less Jungkook was excited.

He met a lot of people from his school and also some people from work, some he knew and some he didn't and one person he didn't expect but was also not surprised to see, Jimin, he was his boss after all.

With him were a number of important looking people that he walked with as they talked to other seemingly important people. Jungkook decided that he will avoid him.

The event started with an introduction from the organisers, people of all ages where present and they cheered and clapped as they listened.

They had a packed programmed prepared and everyone was going to be busy.They had an art gallery set up,  painting sessions and some of the art work was up for sale and a lot of them were being bought.

Jungkook had volunteered to work with the children the elderly.

The children had so many questions Jungkook could barely keep up but he was still enjoying himself. He was also working with other students and they took turns working with the children and the elderly.

After a couple of hours, it was lunch time and Jungkook was in charge of making sure all the children were fed. He was so busy that he had not noticed Jimin who was now next to him.

"Hi" Jimin greeted
"O, good afternoon sir" Jungkook said as he excused himself and had someone else help the children.

"Quite a huge turn up" Jimin commented
"O yes, I was pleasantly surprised" Jungkook said with a small smile.

Jungkook was failing to figure why on earth Jimin was entertaining small talk with him, but none the less, he decided to do the same.

"Uhm, thank you for giving me a chance to make up for my project" Jungkook said the first thing that came to his mind. 
"Don't mention it, your work in incredible"

"I actually wanted to let you know we are sending additional transport for you guys so, seeing how there's so many people we want to make sure everyone gets home on time and safe"
"Thank you, but I actually drove here, I might just help take some people home" Jungkook said with a small smile.

"That's great, if you need any help, you can call alright" Jimin was surprised by the words he had just said but it was too late to take them back
"Thank you" Jungkook replied with a smile.

Jimin finally said his goodbyes and excused Jungkook to get back to his work.

He was left mentally scolding himself, why did he have to offer Jungkook to call him, it's not as if they were close, let alone friends.

All he knew about Jungkook was what Taehyung  had told and up until they broke up, Jungkook was the best thing that had happened to his cousin. 

But the break up crushed him and for a long time Jimin hated Jungkook, he hated that he hurt his cousin and the first time he saw him, he hated how fine he seemed. His life had moved on and he was working at their family company and attending the best school, he had moved on.

But for a long time Taehyung was a shell of a person, nothing that they did could help him and it was all because of Jungkook, he hated him.

But when he got to talk to him, as much as he tried he could ignore the subtle hint of sadness that was in his eyes.

He was kind, soft spoken and gentle in his ways, he was everything and more that Taehyung had described. He still wanted to hate him, but he could not as much as he tried. And without noticing it, he was being kind to him, kinder than he needed to be.

And even though Taehyung said he was fine he wasn't, and ever since he saw Jungkook again, there was a light brought back in his eyes one that he had not seen in a long time and maybe that's why he was kind to Jungkook, there was more to their story but it seemed like neither was ready to talk about it.

The day went by a lot faster than anyone had expected, everyone was sad when it was time to leave.

The buses were full and everyone was ready to go when Jungkook and the other's noticed that a group of four people had no space of the bus, there was a debate about how to get them home since it was almost eight pm and it was getting dark.

"I will take them" Jungkook offered, "are you sure?" one of the organisers asked, "yes of course, I don't mind, I can take them". 

Jungkook then excused himself to call his parents, he was going to get home later than he had planned since the event went past the scheduled time and now he had to drop off the group left behind. He promised to call once he was on his way and if anything changed.

The group that was leaving with Jungkook got packed up and settled in the car, Jungkook said his goodbyes to his colleagues.

The drive was about an hour in the opposite direction, he had to keep assuring them he did not mind.

They chatted all the way and asked Jungkook a lot of questions about art, two of the passengers were in high school and were interested in art school, Jungkook gave a lot of recommendations and advice.

The hour had raced by pretty fast as Jungkook pulled up to the last house. They thanked him profusely and kept trying to pay him for his troubles but Jungkook refused to take their money. After a lot of negotiation they offered him a box of homemade cookies that Jungkook could  not refuse.

They finally said their goodbyes and Jungkook started his three hour drive home.

"I am on my way" he sent the text to his dad.
