"Happy birthday to you! Cha cha cha! Happy birthday to you! Cha cha cha! Happy birthday dear Larkin! Happy birthday to you!" My friends around the table sing, watching as the candle light brightens my small face. Beside me, Jenna shouts the words at the top of her lungs, grinning like a mad man, shouting happily. "Make a wish!" Jenna exclaims. Looking to her with joy, I puff out my cheeks, letting out a breath and watching as the flames disappear magically.
The large cake is handed out, and soon there is very little talk within the kids as we fill our faces with sweets. Gray sits with the parents, looking to me proudly as I celebrate my sixth birthday. I'm a big girl now, right?
