"So, how has your god sister been?" Reese inquires. "Still an entitled little shit?"
"I think it's gotten worse, if that's possible," I respond, allowing a small smile to creep on to my face at Reese.
"And the car? Is it running yet?"
"Almost, actually. I had to get a few new knuts. It should be working by the end of the week."
"And what after the engine?"
"Well, I've got to go to a shop and get the headlights and hood repaired. After that, it's just inspections until the car is completely functional and legal." I laugh lightly for a moment, allowing a few thoughts of my father to flow through me peacefully.
"What's funny?"
"Nothing. Just ironic... He always wanted me to have a car that we worked on together. I just... I never imagined it to be the car that killed him."
