"Shouldn't I be the one planning a date?" Benn laughs, looking at me as I continue to drive down the motorway to an ocean overlook.
"Shut up and let me defy some social stereotypes."
"Fine, fine, fine," He chuckles, humming along to some song on the radio. Finally reaching our destination, I go to open my door. Beaten to it by the man himself, I giggle as he bows me out.
"You're a drama queen, has anyone ever told you that?"
"Have I ever told you what Andrew calls me?" He retorts, referring to his best friend.
"No. What?"
"The Little Princess," He admits, a faint blush crawling up his neck and onto his cheekbones. "Now," He diverts. "What are we doing here?"
"Follow me," I laugh, leading him to the bed of the truck and taking off the hard top to reveal a mattress and wicker picnic basket.
Sitting and staring at the stars, Benn finally opens the basket to let out a low rumble of laughter. "In 'n Out? Really?"
"It's the best burgers out there!" I retort, blushing brightly.
"God, I love you," He chuckles, smiling down at me. I feel myself freeze up a little.
"You... You what?" I can hear a barely audible sigh leave his mouth.
"I love you Kit. You're beautiful, funny, smart, and I just love you."
"I... I love you too Benn."
