"Larkin!" Nora exclaims, catching up to me as I begin my walk home. Halting, I turn to face her. "Where have you been recently? I hardly see you unless it's in history class or at lunch!"
"I've been struggling between work, classes, and appointments," I tell honestly. "I know I've been pretty AWOL, but I need to get out of here."
"Why do you hate it here so much?" She finally asks, studying my face for a long while. She seems genuinely concerned
"It's just not where I belong."
