"Larkin." My godmother's voice is sharp and harsh.
"What?" I retort, just as irriatedly poking my head out of my door.
"There are some things that have come for you." What could have come for me? Who would ever send me anything? "You are to put all of it in our old shed. If I ever see it again outside of there, I'll throw it out. Are we understood?" I give a sharp yet agitated nod, feeling my eyes roll instinctively. Stepping out into the driveway, I feel my knees fall beneath me.
Stopped in the middle of the driveway is a destroyed black Ford 4X4 with an Australian license plate. The back is piled with boxes.
