"Listen," Mia states, looking me up and down, clothes piling my hands. "I don't want you here either, but I'm stuck with you for a couple years. So stay out of my way, and I'll stay out of yours. I know you're working on living that depressed, sad life, but frankly I could care less." 

I think you mean couldn't. My smart ass side of my brain retorted. Externally, I simply rolled my eyes.

"As long as you don't piss me off, I see no reason to be near you."

"Great."
