Emily stands in the center of the hallway, blocking the route around her. I'm stuck between her and a wall of irritating seppos. "Excuse me," I grumble, trying to step past her.
"You know, Mia was right about you."
"Oh, I'm sure she was," I retort, sending a sarcastic smile her way before shoving her aside and walking past. Someone grabs my left forearm harshly, causing me to cry out. The color that stained my clothes when I found my mother soon makes an imprint on my sleeve and touching the instigator. During the interaction, I force myself to see anything other than Connor. His face is written in shock as he looks between my sleeve and his dominant thumb.
Emily's laugh is cold and harsh as she watches the color drain from my face. Spinning on my heel as I rush to the bathroom and clean up the mess, she calls out to me one last time. "What's wrong Walker? Working on a new piece for IT?"
