"What the hell?" I mutter, looking down to all of the cables attached to my body. Aunt Shannon sits in the corner.
"Larkin," She starts, her voice a soft whisper.
"I don't want to hear the lecture," I scoff, looking anywhere but at my aunt.
"Well sucks. Because I'm done, Larkin. I can't handle parenting a teenager who's battling a drug addiction! I'm done dealing with you showing up at half four in the morning, high off your ass! I'm done! I can't do this anymore!" She exclaims, pain evident in her tone. The only thing I respond with is the noise of scratching at my skin - more particularly, my wrists. After hearing her breathe deeply, she speaks again. "I was talking with a judge this morning." Oh no. That can't be good. I can't be taken away from where my father has lived his whole life. It's already my fault that he's gone. Don't take his memory away from me too. That's too cruel of a punishment. "You're going to live with your god parents in Boston until you're eighteen."
"Boston?" I exclaim, laughing in disbelief. "Are you kidding me? You expect me to just get up and move out of the country to a family I don't even know? You expect me to even fathom the idea of being half way around the world from my home? From the people I love?"
"You have left me no other choice, Larkin!" My aunt nearly yells. "It'snot up to you. The judge ruled it. You have no choice. You're leaving inseventy-two hours."
