I sat next to Ashton, a bucket of popcorn in my lap. The movie playing in front of us was one I wasn't exactly keen on seeing, Frankenstein. The creatures on the screen made me feel uneasy, so I welcomed Ashton's arm around my shoulder.

I felt him coming closer, and soon, I felt his breath on my ear. "Is this movie too scary for you?"

I thought for a moment, then turned to him. "No, I'm fine." I grabbed the popcorn and put it down by our feet, instead holding Ashton's hand.

As the movie progressed, I felt Ashton getting closer to me. He had a hand on my knee, and was paying less attention to the movie than to me.

"Hey, Josie."

I turned to Ashton, who was looking at me with a soft smile on his lips. He looked down at mine, then slowly began leaning in. I felt my cheeks heating up, and just as Ashton's lips came close, I tilted my head away again. He kissed my neck a few times, and then looked at me, slightly confused.

I simply smiled and turned away, feeling a strange mix of embarrassment and regret. Thankfully, the credits began rolling, and the lights came back on.

Ashton turned to me. "Did you like the movie?"

I smiled and nodded. "I did...it was quite creepy though, wasn't it?"

He nodded. We stood and walked out into the theatre, finding his car. We drove in silence for a while before Ashton stopped at a red light. "Hey, Josie?"

I looked at him. "Yeah?"

"Does my breath smell?"

I bit my lip. "No, it doesn't. Why?"

He shook his head, turning back to the road. "Nothing. Never mind."
