Stef’s POV
I was against the wall, opposite to where Louis was. I side stepped, before bumping into Liam, allowing me to fall to the floor. I didn’t make a noise, but when I fell, there was a thud. I stood up slowly, holding my breath, stepping quickly away from where I fell. Suddenly, somebody’s hands held my arms. In the dark, I had no idea who it was. “Don’t say anything.” The person whispered. Then, I was being walked over to the other wall and the bathroom door was opened a fraction and I was pulled in.
It was Zayn. “Oh. I thought it was Cassie.” He looked disappointed.
My eyes widened when I had a realisation. “You like Cassie.” I teased. He blushed.
“I do not.” He replied, sheepishly.
“You do too! Don’t lie to me. But seriously, the bathroom?” I asked, laughing a little.
“Well, I couldn’t exactly get anywhere else or you guys’d notice.”
“Well, we know now, and I’m sure she already knew. Now let me go.” I walked back out and my eyes had to adjust to the light, or lack of.
“Dead.” Louis yelled, grabbing someone.
“I’m the killer.”Maryanne, said. “And this is the last round. Ok?”
She started walking around and then I heard somebody squeal. I froze. Somebody walked over my grave. Tingles rolled off my spine as I turned around. The lights flicked on and two people were missing.
Cassie and Zayn were not in the room. I heard voices from the bathroom and almost laughed.
Cassie’s POV
“What?” I asked, annoyed.
Zayn was quiet for a minute. Uh oh. “Cassie, before...never mind.” He walked out. He walked out! I didn’t know what he was going to say. Before? When? Before we met? Before yesterday? Before now? It agitated me.
“Game over.” Maryanne suggested, opening the blinds, while Sarah and Josh lifted the table back into the room.
“Zayn.” I called following him back into the kitchen.
“Cassie.” He stopped, turned around and caught my hands. “I’m sorry. I’ll tell you later, I promise.” I nodded and hoped for the best. “Hey,” He said, lifting my chin up. “Chin up, beautiful.” I smiled at that remark.
“It’s about lunch time, don’t you think?” Izzy came in and started rummaging through the pantry.
“I second that.” Niall opened the fridge and began taking out the condiments.
“Hey, make sure you put that back where you got it.” Sarah warned.
I went and sat down on the couch with Sarah W, Liam and Zayn. Maryanne sat on the footstool. “Who has the t.v. remote?” I asked, looking around.
“I do.” Sarah W said, picking it up off the floor and turning the t.v. on. “Disney!” She squealed.
“How old are you?” Maryanne asked, looking at Sarah like she was three.
“Lighten up.” Liam said to Maryanne, and she went quiet. I eyed Maryanne and she looked back at me with a funny look. I slyly smiled and she blushed. I opened my mouth in astonishment. She nodded slightly and I laughed. She had fallen.
Sarah’s POV
I sat down at the table with Josh and Harry and noticed that Stef and Louis were nowhere to be seen. I shook my head and giggled. “What are you laughing at? Is it a best moment?” Josh teased.
I stopped short of answering, and instead of replying, just smiled back at him. Sometimes I wondered why I was all of those things? Why I thought that was funny and why other stuff wasn’t.
“Hey guys, I figured, it’d be too much to make sandwiches and all, so we just put chips and stuff in a couple of bowls. Is that ok?” Izzy asked, placing two bowls on the table and another one down with the others. “Where’s Stef and Louis?”
I gestured to the stairs and Izzy nodded. “Hey, Izzy, you dance right?” Harry began. I didn’t dance. Even Josh knew that, and I knew he was going to comment on it.
“Two left feet.” He patted my back when he saw me smiling. “I didn’t forget.”
“I know.” I replied, looking up at him, unsurprisingly, he was taller than me, which was a good thing by all means, but I was used to being the tall one. “But I don’t know much about you.”
“You don’t have to. You’ll learn anyway.” He rested his arm across the back of my chair, while I ate the sour cream and chives chips.
Sarah W, Zayn and Cassie, moved up to the table, to get more food. Cassie gave me a look, and then glanced behind me, at Josh. I shook my head and she raised her eyebrows. I shrugged it off.
Stef’s POV
Louis and I ran down stairs at that very moment. And it was like walking into a happy family; Liam and Maryanne were sitting watching t.v., Izzy and Niall in the kitchen, and the remainder of them sitting at the table.
“Where’ve you two been?” Sarah W asked.
“On a tour.” Louis replied. “Of the house.” Sarah W nodded and re-engaged with conversation she was in.
“What’s for lunch?” I asked.
“Food.” Sarah replied, smiling evilly. I rolled my eyes as I walked over to the table to peer into the bowls. I took a handful of popcorn and sat down at the head of the table. Louis also grabbed some popcorn and then sat to the left of me.
“Hey.” I started. “Can I just talk to all the girls for a second?” I got out of my chair and headed for the stairs. They all followed as I wandered into my room.
“Something’s up.” Cassie commented, flopping down on my bed.
“I know.” I replied, chewing my bottom lip.
“You’re in love.” Sarah and Sarah teased in a sing-song voice.
“I am not!” I put off.
“Yes you are.” Maryanne stated, seating herself at my desk. “It’s written all over you’re face.” She sighed. “Doesn’t he have the prettiest brown eyes?”
“No. His eyes are blue green.” I shot back. Then I realised I’d fallen into her trap.
“See, that just proves that you’re falling for him.” Izzy spoke up. “You pay too much attention.”
“Not too much.” Sarah put in. “But enough to know that she’s in love.” She teased.
“For the last time, I’m not in love...Cassie is!” I burst out. We all gasped, even though it was true, then we laughed.
Cassie went quiet. “I don’t know.”
“When you’re in love, you don’t have to know, you’ll learn anyway.” Sarah said. Cassie looked up at her, mouth agape.
“Right, I am not the one in love. You are.” Cassie said, pointing at Sarah. Sarah blushed.
“I am not.”
“Is it true love?” I asked teasingly.
“It’s not my fault he asked me all those questions-” She tried to defend.
“Yet you quote him.” Sarah W said.
“Well it was a good line. And what about you and Liam? I am not in love.” Sarah said, pointing to Maryanne.
“What about us? But I think the thing here, is that we need to know if they like us.” Maryanne suggested. “Because, otherwise there is no point to all of this.”
“She’s right.” Izzy said, standing up and walking to the middle of the room. “Come on, they’re probably bored because we’re not there.”
