Sarah’s POV
When the weekend finally rolled around, it was like heaven. I could sleep in on a day like today. “Sarah!” Cassie yelled. My heaven was shattered. I got up and pulled on a random jumper, walking sleepily down the stairs.
Josh and I hadn’t talked since our...disagreement, but it was kind of bugging me now. I was so used to having him know everything about me, and not know anything at the same time. But I had been getting a lot of calls from Harry...was he hitting on me?
As I sat down at the bench in the kitchen, Cassie came out from one of the spare rooms. “Sarah. There you are. We have a problem.” She dragged me into the spare room. It was pitch black.
“What’s the problem?” I yawned.
“I can’t find the spare set of cutlery.” She started digging around under the bed.
“Why would it be in here?” I asked opening the blind.
“Because this is where I left it.” Cassie said.
“And why do you need it? Is there not enough cutlery in the drawers anyway? Have you been packing the dishwasher? Have you done the dishes?” I asked.
“Yeah, it’s all there, but I thought that it might be nice if I have the special cutlery out for...” She trailed off there.
“When’s Jordan coming over?” I sighed. She felt she still had to impress him, even though she was the one who said that they should take a break.
“He said some time Saturday and well, I’m worried. Zayn said he’s coming over and no matter what I say or do, he’s not leaving until he knows I’m safe. And there’s no point going to their place, he knows where they’re staying.” Cass rambled on.
“So you’re gonna wait it out?” I asked. She nodded. “Then don’t worry about impressing him or anything like that. He’s coming over here out of his free will, so if he’s got the time to want you back, you must have been important. But if you didn’t feel that the relationship was right, then you did the right thing.” I consoled.
Cassie hugged me then. “You really should be a counselor.” She whispered.
“Nah. I’ve got my own problems to sort out first.” I mumbled.
“But it’s on your to-do list?” She asked walking back out to the kitchen.
“It is now.” I laughed. We both sat down at the bench and just waited. When there was a knock on the door, I could feel my heart in my throat. Cassie looked at me with wide eyes(Stef’s out at work). We both inched towards the door. Then sense hits me. I relax a whole lot before pulling the door open the whole way. Zayn’s standing there with Niall behind him, both hands in pockets looking pretty pissed.
“We thought you were Jordan.” Cassie exclaimed letting them right in.
“Hey babe.” He kissed Cassie’s forehead. “He not here yet is he?” Zayn asked, looking around, completely dismissing the fact that I was there. I looked sympathetically back at Niall and gestured for him to come in.
“No. He’s not here yet.” Cassie replied, going back into the kitchen.
“And you’re alright?” He asked her. Still I got no recognition.
“Yeah. Sarah’s here to keep me together.” She gestured to me and he turned and looked at me. It was like I hadn’t been there at all.
“Oh. Hey Sarah.” He flashed his perfect smile and as much as it was amazing, I wasn’t fangirling. As much as I was never in the spotlight, I would like to have been acknowledged before-hand.
