Sarah’s POV
“Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!” Wardy literally leapt over to me from like halfway across the room.
“What’s up?” I asked, looking over her shoulder to see who’d put her up to sending her randomly into my room on what seemed to be a high.
“Well...umm,” Wardy wasn’t one to not tell it straight. My eyes narrowed then I gave her the look. “Ok...niallaskedmeoutonthedrivebackherefromtheairportandisaidyes!” She squealed.
I didn’t even have to think about it, I knew it as she said it. “Oh my gosh!” I squealed in reply. “That’s so cute.”
“I know.” She giggled as we sort of danced around the room. Then I hugged her. She froze. “I’m going on a date with Niall Horan.” She whispered as is if it only just sunk in. I nodded and she started jumping around again. “Oh my gosh!” She squealed.
Then Cass and Stef came running in. “Are you two ok? We heard screaming and came running.” Cass panted.
Wardy and I looked at each other and giggled. “Uh oh, they’re being Sarah-ish.” Cass warned Stef as if it wasn’t obvious. There was a few moments of silence while we just waited for someone to say something. “So...are you going to tell us what’s happening?”
“Umm, well...I’m ah...I’m going on a date.” Wardy began slowly and a lot more controlled than before.
“With who?” Stef asked, as we all moved to sit down on my bed.
“Isn’t it obvious?” I asked, not being able to hide my grin.
We all looked at Wardy and she blushed. “What?” She asked.
“Is it him?” Cass asked knowingly.
Wardy looked down at her hands and nodded. “What’s the time?” Cass asked me. I shrugged and was about to ask why when Stef answered.
“It’s after midday, I win.” Stef declared.
“It can’t be.” Cass disagreed.
“Well it is after midday, so would someone mind telling me,” Wardy shot me a confused look. “-us, what’s going on?”
“Oh, right...well.” Stef began. “I’m sure Cass would love to explain.”
Cass glared at Stef. Stef just smiled. Cass sighed. “Well, Stef came up with the idea-”
“It was not my idea. It was yours!” Stef defended herself.
“Right, well if that’s what happened I do believe that you agreed to it.” Cass argued.
“Look, we can point the blame at either one of you once we know what happened.” Wardy silenced us all.
The two of them stayed silent for a moment shooting each other looks until Stef gave in. “Cass and I bet each other when Niall was going ask you out.” Stef paused, gesturing to Wardy. “And I bet he would ask you in the afternoon, Cass before noon. Guess what?” She asked us excitedly.
“What?” Wardy and I asked in sync.
“I won ten dollars!” She laughed.
Wardy and I both rolled our eyes and I sighed. “Well then, seeing as you won the bet, you deserve the blame.” I suggested. Stef stopped her happy dance and just looked at me.
“There’s no logic in that. At all.” She stated.
I smiled. “It’s the saying; ‘You win some, you lose some’.”
“Fair enough. So what’s it that I’m losing?” Stef asked knowing that I wasn’t going to actually do anything.
“Dignity.” I replied simply. She definitely didn’t know how to react to that so she just nodded.
Stef’s POV
Once I’d lost some dignity, I left the three of them to talk about the date, not really something I was wanting to talk about at the moment. I saw Izzy, Liam, Maryanne and Harry playing monopoly but decided not to join them. Instead, I headed out to the recording studio out the back of the garage.
It’s silent in there, no one’s there so it’s expected. Instruments line the back wall and in the middle is a grand piano. A table sits to the left of it and to the right of it is a burgundy leather couch with two matching armchairs. To my immediate left is a kitchenette, which the table sits half way in; the other half in the actual recording studio.
It was sort of homey here as I sat down on the couch. It smelt like cinnamon and mint. I held my breath for a moment, as if to savor it; I thought that if I even breathed too loud it would ruin it.
Then the door creaked. The couch I was sitting on was facing away from the door. I felt my skin prickle and hair stand on end. I sat very still hoping, praying that this person might just ignore me or overlook me altogether. Unfortunately it wasn’t the case.
