Stef’s POV
“I can’t decide if today was good or not. Pros: It was my birthday. Everybody threw me a surprise party and I found out that stupid secret from Louis and Sarah. Cons: Izzy left for Melbourne and it’s only one week before the boys leave again.
Hence, I think Sarah will be going back to Australia soon and it wouldn’t surprise me if Wardy went as well. I’m pretty sure Amelia won’t hang around long, she’ll go back to France. Maryanne had found herself an apartment in Oxford and Cass...I honestly have no idea. Same with myself; I don’t where I’ll go, or what I’ll do. I don’t know if I should stay here, because, well, this isn’t even my place, I don’t own it.” I thought all of this while we all sat in the living room and watched a movie.
Well, we were all going rock-climbing tomorrow, but after today’s pros and cons, I’m just exhausted. I fell asleep on the couch.
Cassie’s POV
I woke up Sunday morning to the disheveled face of Zayn. Four months I’ve known him. By reputation, much longer though. Four months. My birthday’s in fourteen days. It feels a lot longer than that.
Seeing as rock-climbing was in order for today, I wore casual clothes: kaki cargo pants, grey tank and my black nike runners.
Breakfast was already made when I got down stairs, lucky me, only thing is that Sarah seems to be the only person who ever cooks around here and I know that she hates cooking - she’d rather clean the entire house.
Sarah’s POV
After breakfast we headed down to the train station (because celebrities don’t only drive around in limousines and Cadillacs) and touched on with myki (they have myki systems all over the world, who knew right?), before getting a seat. As the train stopped at each station, more and more people got on the train, and at one point there were no more seats and as the train pulled up, a mother and her daughter got on, looking rather distressed as it had just started raining outside and they were practically soaked.
The seating arrangement for the twelve of us went like this: the seats were in pairs (I know what you’re all think: we sat boyfriend-girlfriend, well you’re not wrong, but hardly right) so, Maryanne and Amelia were in one pair, facing them were Wardy and Cass, on the other side of the train were Stef and Louis, opposite them were Harry and I, and behind us: Niall and Zayn, Josh and Liam.
Now this lady and her daughter had gotten onto the train closest to Stef and Louis, now being the gentlemen he was, Louis stood up form his spot and offered it to the woman.
“Oh no, I couldn’t take your seat.” She declined his offer politely, but Louis was being rather persistent, to put it in simple terms: stubborn.
“No, I insist.” Louis continued to offer until she finally reconciled and sat down. Now I could quite clearly see that Stef was anxious, as she hadn’t offered her seat for the girl who looked about four or five. So she stood and swiftly moved to stand next to Louis; in all she did it rather gracefully.
The mother silently thanked Stef as the girl sat and looked at Stef and Louis in awe. “Mummy, the pretty lady and man were very kind weren’t they?” The daughter asked loudly, making Stef blush and Louis smirk. The mother also blushed at her daughter’s statement, and trying to remove any attention form her self and her daughter, she began to go through her bag looking for some kind of distraction to occupy her daughter. But the daughter wasn’t finished. “Are you two getting married?” She continued on rather matter-of-factly. “My mummy says that if two people love each other very much, they’d give each other their seat on the bus. But you both gave us a seat, so you must love each other very much.” The girl informed.
By now, Stef was holding onto Louis’ hand so tight (from the embarrassment) that his knuckles had turned white. I was trying my absolute hardest to stop myself laughing. But isn’t it amazing how truthful and blunt children could be, especially when they have next to no idea what exactly they mean?
“No,” Louis answered. “We’re not getting married,” He paused to look at Stef, then bringing his and Stef’s intwined hands between them. “Yet.” Stef was continuously fading between red and white. She looked rather faint if you ask me.
“So are you going to ask her to marry you?” The girl asked.
“Mariam! That is enough, can’t you see that you’re troubling the young woman?” The mother burst out, pulling out a Fredo frog, handing it to the girl.
Louis was smirking the whole time “Mariam” asked this. “Yes. I’ll ask her to marry me when she’s ready.” He said this all the while looking straight at Stef, who was looking at her feet, rather shocked.
The girl didn’t say anything for a while, until she was about half way through her Fredo frog, she looked up at Louis. “Can I be the flower girl?”
Louis’ grin reached from ear-to-ear. “Of course you can.” He replied, and by now Stef was beside herself.
“What’s your name?” The girl asked.
“My name’s Louis. And this is my girlfriend, Stef.” Louis answered.
The train pulled up at the next station and the mother stood, thanked Louis and Stef for her’s and her daughter’s seats, and left. “Bye Louis. Bye Stef.” Mariam called as her and her mother got off the train. Louis waved to her as the train pulled away from the station.
“Wasn’t that cute then?” Louis asked, making Stef blush again as they both reclaimed their seats.
“Cute?” Stef asked, rather bewildered. “It was embarrassing.” She proclaimed.
“But isn’t it a nice thought that you could be Mr. and Mrs. Tomlinson?” I teased looking at the two of them.
“Oh shut up.” Stef hissed.
I shot Stef the look. “I’d appreciate if you didn’t use such language in such a public place.” I replied.
“Puh-lease, that is hardly swearing.” Stef revoked.
I folded my arms and sat back in my seat. “Ok. What would you think if Mariam had said that?” I asked, knowing that this would make her understand.
Stef sat there, speechless, knowing that I was right and that she wouldn’t have a half decent come-back without it sounding obnoxious.
“This just goes to prove my point.” I ended the conversation by unfolding my arms and staring out the window.
“She’s right though,” Louis whispered to Stef. Stef just rolled her eyes and turned away from the both of us. “Mariam’s right. I should ask you to marry me.” Stef turned back to Louis, obviously expecting Louis to be talking about me being right (which I always am), but instead, counter acted his part by bringing up the girl.
“Louis. I turned twenty one yesterday, I don’t need to be married right now.” She exclaimed. It obviously hurt his ego when she practically turned him down; but technically he hadn’t asked her.
“One day then?” He asked hopefully.
She eyed him carefully for only a moment before replying. “Maybe.”
Author's note:
Good news and Bad news.
Bad news first: This story is going to finish before the 70th chapter... hopefully.
Good news: I might, MIGHT, maybe, maybe not be writing a sequel. Don't get your hopes up.
On a lighter note: This is the cutest chapter ever! And I thought it up today on the train.
