Cassie’s POV
After skating, we went back to their apartment. We’d eaten out for lunch so we decided to cook something there instead. We were sitting around the table after dinner playing battle ship(Stef and I versus Louis and Niall). We’re winning by like four boats because Sarah’s been pretty much telling us where to put them. She’s been walking around the kitchen and living room and glancing over at their game every once in a while and telling us where to put them with her eyes. Then she stopped. She went into her room and didn’t come out for a while.
“E7.” I guess, waiting for him to reply.
“How do you girls keep getting it? Hit!” Louis groans, putting in a red tack thing into one of his and Niall’s boats and then we did the same but on the top board.
Zayn comes over to the table and sits down next to me. “Can talk to you for a minute?” He asks me, but looking around at the group of us. Everybody nods and he whisks me into the elevator. “I’m sorry for what I said last night. I shouldn’t have argued, but I saw something good in today...right?” He asked me, finally looking me in the eyes.
I shrugged. “What you think is good and what I consider good might be two completely different things. But what is this really about?” I ask as we step out into the cold night air.
We seem to be having our meetings on the top floor. Luckily, it seems that no one ever uses this place.
“I was gonna talk to you about the date. So, tomorrow for lunch ok?” He grinned over at me. But his eyes...something he wasn’t so sure about. Why was there always that slight catch that we always got caught in? Maybe it was bigger than what I first thought.
“Yeah. Tomorrow.” I replied and we sat there for a while enjoying each other’s company.
Sarah’s POV
I went into Josh’s room when I saw him sitting on the floor. Why does anyone casually sit on the floor? “Hey.” I began softly as to not scare him.
He flinched when he heard me. “Oh, hey.” He said nervously.
“What’s up?” I asked worriedly as I sat down next to him. He had his phone in his hands, he looked like he was waiting.
“I was gonna get a call from a friend. He wants me to go down to his place tomorrow, just to hang out. You cool with that?”
“You don’t have to ask my permission to live your life. You can go.” I grinned.
“Thanks love.” He kissed my forehead and then his phone rang. “Hey...yeah...see ya tomorrow...bye.” And he hung up. It was that easy. I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder.
Stef’s POV
“Movie anyone?” Louis offers after we finish playing battle ship. I won by the way.
“We have to watch a scary movie.” Niall stated.
“What are we doing?” Sarah asked, coming out of her’s and Josh’s room.
“Watching a movie.” Harry commented. Sarah nodded and sat down on the couch.
Cass and Zayn came back in now and Cass gave me a look like: we need to girl talk now. “Well, whatever movie we’re planning on watching, why don’t you boys decide for us girls?” I suggested, getting up from the table and gestured for Sarah to follow us. She stood and looked from Cass to me and then nodded once.
We made our way to Cass’s bedroom and seated ourselves on the bed. “So. What’s to know?” I asked, looking keenly at Cass.
“Tomorrow; picnic lunch. I don’t know what to wear. And I can’t just wear whatever I feel like, because I’m going on a date with Zayn Malik so like yeah. I have no idea what to do or anything.” Cass blabbed on.
“First things first-don’t play it dumb. Intelligence is sexy. Believe me.” Sarah advised. “And second; don’t play hard to get. He asked you out on a date and you said yes. Be nice, play along, but most importantly-”
Sarah was cut off by Zayn as he opened the door and walked in. “We’ve chosen a movie.” We nodded and followed him out.
Seeing as there weren’t enough seats to seat everyone, Sarah sat in front of Josh and he played with her hair, Cass sat on Zayn’s lap and I sat on Louis’. “What movie?” I asked.
“Well, after much consideration,” Harry glanced over at Sarah. “We decided on Oz the Great and Powerful.” Sarah then started laughing. “What’s so funny about that?” Harry asked.
“Oh nothing, it’s just that it’s like funny and scary at the same time.” Sarah explained whilst laughing.
“Sarah, you can’t walk through a dark room without thinking someone’s going to get you, of course you think it’s scary.” Cass said, only slightly exaggerated.
Niall turned the lights off and we all got comfy. The movie started and we all sort of sat in the semi-awkward silence as the beginning credits rolled through.
Cassie’s POV
‘Most importantly what?’ I thought as I glanced over at Sarah. She is really good at advice on like anything, even relationships even though she’d never been in a proper one. ‘Most importantly look nice? Smile?’ I sighed silently and looked back at Zayn. He grinned at me and I smiled back. Well, I didn’t have to worry about smiling, it was natural instinct for me to smile at someone as good looking as him anyway.

It was late when the movie ended. I walked over to Sarah and pushed her into the bathroom. “What were you going to say? It sounded important.” I rushed.
She shrugged and then thought for a second. “Oh. Most importantly, fall for him. Don’t use your head, listen to your heart.” She grinned, left the bathroom and left me standing there. What she may or may not know is that I kind of already have and so it won’t be that hard, but everything else complicates the equation.
