Sarah’s POV
I knew that was their song. It just fit so perfectly. I went and sat back down and sang along quietly. “Not singing?” Josh teased.
“It’s not my song.” I replied, looking back over and Stef and Louis. Josh nodded.
“Then what is your song?” Josh asked, leaning in towards me.
“My own song is really...Paradise, but that’s a singular song.” I explained.
“Do we have a couple song?” He asked.
“Maybe. But since when were we a couple?” I teased.
His face fell when I said that. “I thought we were a couple. So do we have a ‘couple’ song?” He asked. “If that’s even what you’d call us.” He added.
I looked appalled at him. “I was only joking but if that’s how it’s gonna be... But yes. There is a couple song I thought might be nice.”
“Well tell me what it is.” He urged.
“Why do I have to choose? If it’s a ‘couple’ song as you call it, it should be something that we both like.” I suggested.
“Yeah, ok. I agree. What do you like-”
“This is it.” I grinned. Count on me, started playing.
“Dance with me then?” Josh asked, not really giving me a choice as he pulled me out of my seat. We sort of sway in time to the music. Then he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me into a hug. He started singing at the chorus. “You can count on me like 1, 2, 3, I’ll be there. And I know when I need it I can count on you like 4, 3, 2 and you’ll be there. ‘Cause that’s what friends are supposed to do oh yeah.” He sang along.
“I didn’t know you sing.” I whispered.
He shrugged and rested his chin on my head. “I didn’t know you could sing either.”
Cassie’s POV
“Hey Cass, you wanna go for a walk?” Zayn asked me. I nodded and we went out the front of the restaurant and he took me down to the park, just around the corner. We found a bench and sat down. “You look really pretty tonight.”
I felt myself blush as he put his arm around my shoulders. “Thank you.” I said politely. I looked him in the eye, but he wasn’t looking at me. He was nervous. “Zayn, what’s up?” I asked.
“Ithoughtthatyoumightliketogotolunchwithmesometime.” He rushed.
At first I didn’t answer, trying to decode his words. Then it dawned on me. My smile grew. Inside I was melting. “Anytime. Anywhere.” I smiled and rested my head on his shoulder.
We sat in silence for a little. “Do you think we should go back now? Won’t they be missing us?” I asked. Actually, I just wanted to tell the girls about my date.
We walked back in and everybody was sitting down again. “Hey, where’d you two go?” Liam asked as we sat back down.
“Out.” Zayn said, quite seriously too.
I looked over at the girls and battering my eyelashes said. “Now, we need to go to the bathroom, don’t we?”
“We what?” Stef asked, not really listening.
“Yes. We do.” Sarah tugged on Stef’s arm, and she got up and followed us. The boys gave us some weird looks Once we were in, I had a fangirl moment. “What did he say?” Sarah asked.
“He asked me out.” I breathed, trying to calm myself down.
“Same here.” Sarah and Stef exclaimed in sync. Then they looked at each other and laughed.
“When?” Stef asked.
“I’m pretty sure it’s next week. We’re going out to lunch. So, what are you and Louis doing?” I asked eagerly.
“He’s taking me out to see a movie.”
“Ooo. What movie?”
“I dunno yet. And I don’t know when either.”
“What about you?” I asked Sarah.
“He’s taking me out to dinner.” Sarah said simply.
“Aww. Romantic.” Stef teased. Sarah blushed.
