Cassie’s POV
“What’s the time?” I mumbled, wiping my hand across my face lazily. When I didn’t get a reply, I fully opened my eyes. Zayn had his back to me and he seemed asleep. I glanced around and my eyes caught on the digital clock. It was just past eight in the morning. I could smell bacon and eggs and it made my mouth water.
I hobbled out to the kitchen and sat down at the bench noticing that a plate was already set there. Glancing up the length of the bench there were enough plates to feed all twelve of us.
“Morning sleepy head.” Stef said cheerily, dishing some bacon onto each of the plates. Everyone was up now except for Zayn. “Why are you up so late?” She asked.
“Late?” I yawned. “It’s really early.”
Stef then started going around dishing scrambled eggs onto each plate then took a seat next to me. “Well, considering we were all pretty much asleep by nearly ten last night, it’s late.” She explained.
I shook my head but didn’t continue the discussion. I downed my breakfast with orange juice then went back to our room and got Zayn up. “Hey. You missed breakfast.” I mumbled, still half asleep as I shook his arm, then left him for the shower.
Once I was dressed and ready, Zayn wasn’t in the room anymore. He’d even, made the bed. How nice of him.
“Yup, it’s in three weeks.” I heard Stef say, as I approached her, Sarah, Wardy and Louis’ conversation.
“How could we forget?” Sarah smiled, rolling my eyes.
“Forget what?” I asked asked blankly. The three of them laughed laughed and if looks could kill, Stef had pretty much pre-Avada Kedavra-ed me.
“Stef’s birthday.” Wardy nudged me and my eyes widened. “You can’t have actually forgotten? Your birthday is two weeks after hers.”
“You are so dead Cassie!” Stef muttered rolling her eys. “So I’m guessing you three all prepared and probably have had both mine and Cass’s birthday stuff organised for months?” Stef asked. Sarah and Wardy nodded, but Louis sort of just looked at his feet. Well, he hadn’t known Stef all that long, so he probably didn’t know. “Not to mention Izzy’s as well I presume?” Sarah and Wardy nodded again.
“Just out of curiosity, what do you want for your birthday?” Louis asked.
“Hmm, you know I’m horrible at the birthday stuff. I’ll be more than happy with whatever you get me.” Stef informed. He nodded and looked back down at his feet.
“What kind of party are you going to have?” I asked, making a mental note to start setting up.
“I was thinking maybe a themed party, but not sure what theme, yet.” She described.
“Fair enough.” Themed party: check. Theme: needs work. “Where?”
“Probably here. I I’m allowed to.” She explained, looking hopefully at Louis who nodded his head.
“What about a costume party?” Wardy suggested. She looked at me brightly.
“You always have the ideas.” Stef exclaimed, scribbling down Wardy’s idea on a post-it note that was sitting on the bench.
“Just a quick reminder that they’re not always sane ideas.” I joked. SArah gave me the look and Wardy stuck her tongue out.
“What kind of costume party?” Stef asked.
“A-”
“Masquerade.” Louis cut me off, but I didn’t argue because his idea was better than mine anyway.
“Yeah.” It dawned on me that that would honestly be amazing. “Also, why haven’t you sent out invites yet? It’s in three weeks.”
“I’ve been busy, and we’re in England, who else am I going to invite?” Stef replied. I nodded in agreement.
Later that day we’d told everyone that it was going to be the day after her birthday, here and Izzy’s two day’s after her own. At a restaurant. Fancy.
