30. Pietro Becomes a Single Lady/ Loki Loses His Mojo

Steve and Tony sat on the couch as they inconspicuously glanced at (Y/n) and Bucky, who were watching sprawled together on the couch, watching an episode of Arrow.

James' head was resting on her lap and she was mindlessly playing with his brown locks.

Tony nudged Steve. "You're sure they're together? This looks like every other day with them."

Steve glared back. "You know I don't lie. Plus, you've seen the footage. They kissed! Who knows when they will start fonduing?"

The billionaire chuckled. "Fondue is food. How many times do I need to go over that? But you're right, they did kiss. But something just doesn't add up!"

"You mean the fact that (Y/n) liked Loki but accepted buckys proposal instead?"

Tony smacked Steve's shoulder. "Exactly! And since when did Buck-boi develop feelings for her? It certainly didn't happen overnight!"

"So, you're saying that this is a ruse?" Steve said, his eyebrows furrowed. He brushed his fingers across a drawing of his, one with a red-winged fairy perched over a lamp-post. He has delved into books of fantasy, where the world of dwarves and giants and fairies enthralled him.
"After all, (Y/n) does enjoy Buck's company. As well as all the other men's."

Tony clicked his tongue. "That's because she knew all of us before Loki. We had already been good friends. But Loki, no. He was the tall, dark, and handsome stranger that caught her attention." Tony said as he sat in deep thought.

"Yet she went to Bucky instead. They do have a connection, you know." Steve suggested. "She understands and loves him, and he adores her more than anything."

Tony frowned. "How come?"

Steve sighed. "When she was still an agent, Fury paired us up to go against HYDRA, along with another agent who happened to be her partner. (Y/n) and Agent Robinson were captured by the Winter Soldier, when we had been in a mall with Natasha."

The Winter Soldier, (Y/n), and Jackie were in the same room with HYDRA agents. This was after he had encountered Steve, who had discovered his identity, and Bucky ended up saving him. But he had no idea who the man on the bridge truly was. For years, Bucky had questioned his previous life, grasping at the loose threads of his memories.
And the fact that the man on the bridge knew him, on a personal basis, made him curious.

On another note, it terrified him.
Did he want to remember his life before he became the Winter Soldier?

Bucky was strapped to a brainwashing machine while the women were prepared to be tortured for information about SHIELD. He watched them whispering to each other, a few agents were outside to soon interrogate them.

Bucky could barely feel anything. His mind was still reeling from Steve. He couldn't remember much, but there was something in the way Steve said his last words before he plummeted into the river. He had to get out of this place soon. He didn't want to continue being the Winter Soldier anymore. But how?

The agents walked in, two went to the women and one went to Bucky and placed a tray filled with sweets. "We'll have to prepare you. You can get these after it is successful." He gestured to the sweets, making Bucky lick his lips.

But (Y/n), also a sweet-lover, was staring at the sweets with fierce determination.

"Hey! Can we get sweets after you torture us too?" (Y/n) asked hopefully. She was hung by her wrists, and was feeling a little self-conscious at the moment.

"No."

"Too bad. Since you have deprived me of my sweet sweets, I will kill you-" she pointed with a bent wrist, at one man who had brought out a few cables,"- maim you-" she pointed at the guy standing to the side,"-and probably electrocute you."
