33. Haunted House : Part -2

The Avengers entered the house, Tony and Pietro screamed, they encountered a possessed Loki, the men screamed again, Pietro got stuck in a staircase, he definitely screamed, Nat wanted to shoot Loki, Tony screamed again, Loki developed a hatred for a wooden cupboard, more screaming, Thor wanted to kill that cupboard, they wanted to use lightning to burn it down and finally! Nat let out an ear-piercing shriek.

Natasha screamed. 

"Wait! Let us get out of the way first!" Everyone stepped back except for Thor and Steve, who took their positions again. Thor was going to swing when she screamed again.

"What happens when we do get it to open?"

"If we get it to open?" Pietro corrected and she rolled her eyes. Thor and Steve relaxed from their positions and scowled at them.

"Then we get to see what's inside." Loki responded and urged them to resume. Thor and Steve held their positions again when Thor paused and waited.

He didn't turn as his hands were midway to striking the shield. "Yes, Natasha?"

She answered sheepshly. "Won't the cupboard burn down?"

"So WHAT'S THE PROBLEM? I DON'T CARE IF IT BURNS!" Thor said angrily.

"Hey! Clint might be in there and might burn." You retorted with clenched fists.

"Coz we got the fire, fire, fire. And we gonna let it burn." Pietro sang out softly, making a few people chuckle. Except Thor. It was the first time since he got pissed.

"I DON'T CARE!"

Thor swung down his weapon and it struck so hard that everyone clamped their ears. The lightning struck through the roof and redirected to the cupboard making a sizzling noise.
After a few seconds, they let it off and stepped back, watching as the smoke disappeared.

The cupboard was still there and unharmed.

Thor growled and threw his hammer it but nothing happened. "I'M GONNA KILL THAT THING!"

Steve held him back and yelled for help. Pietro and Loki pushed him away after glancing at the cupboard warily.

"Guys! Calm down. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation as to how this cupboard isn't opening." Tony said with a gulp and went closer. He inspected as everyone watched with bated breath. And then he tried to open it.

And it opened.

Tony let out a scream, a very happy scream that had startled everyone out of their skin. They thought he had seen something but no. This just added to his enormous ego. Thor now wanted to strangle Tony, but was held back by Loki's magic.

"I did it. I did it. You can all suck it!" He sang out and bounced on his feet while clapping.

"Excellent. Now can you please shut up?" Steve asked sharply, making everyone go dead silent.

"He just said a bad word!"

You took a closer look and your eyes widened in horror. "Guys. I know why only Tony could open this cupboard. There's an inscription here. "

"What does it say?" Nat asked curiously as she stepped forward.

"Whosoever is worthy of entering hell shall have the power to wield the cupboard door. Innocents who shall traverse the path of heaven shall be unable." You read out.
