I was so in love with the scene from Endgame in the end, and then I stumbled upon this song that just... wow, I fell in love this song. This song was there in the deepest parts of my memory, and when I heard it, I just thought of writing this. It felt so right.
La vie en rose by Edith Piaf. The translations are not exact or correct, I'm sorry for that.

This happens right after Loki presented (Y/n) with her bookshop/café in the episode Dumb Clint, Space Talk, and Steve's Adopted Whale.

I'm sorry it's not an Endgame update. I'm still working on that. I just had to do this. This is one of the quickest shots I've ever done, and initially wasn't going to be a songfic since I've never done those. But eh.

The day after she discovered his surprise, (Y/n) and Loki returned to the shop. They had grabbed dinner from a nearby restaurant.

"What's your deal with your magical mishaps?" (Y/n) asked him. She held his hand as they walked, and it felt colder than the night itself. Her hand was extremely warm because of her powers, and it always made them feel normal to touch.

Loki shrugged. "All great magicians make mistakes."

"Get turned into animals, making Bucky a goat-"

"He had actually asked for it!" Loki exclaimed.

"Then there was that other incident-"

"I have no idea what you're talking about."

"Oh!" (Y/n) laughed. "Remember that day you tried to spell your skin to become warm, but it became too hot and you had to go nude the entire day because your clothes kept burning off?"

Loki pecked her cheek. "I think you enjoyed that day way too much."

"You walked around like everything was fine. Clint was impressed and Tony was straight-up jealous."

They walked along the sidewalk, bickering loudly. A couple of women were passing by and happened to bat their lashes at Loki.

"He'd look so much better without that dusted-up excuse of a woman," one of them muttered to her friend.

(Y/n) and Loki glanced at each other. He pursed his lips. "Don't believe them."

"I don't," she replied. Her (eye color) eyes met his bright green ones and she smiled. "You're my boyfriend, not hers, and I trust you."

That was exactly what Loki needed to hear. This was the reason he loved (Y/n) so much. She never gave him reason to doubt her trust. From the beginning, although she was wary, she treated him with respect and trusted him faster than anyone he had ever met. It was the reason he redeemed himself.

He produced the key as they stood before the closed shop. She giddily took it and unlocked the door. They locked the door behind them and put their coats away.

The lights were dim and smoky. It reflected on the tables and chairs that were pushed against the walls. The streetlight shone through the closed blinds, and (Y/n) felt in the mood for a song.
(Y/n) connected her phone to the speakers. When she looked back, she saw Loki standing there, his hair tied up. The simple jeans and t-shirt he had worn looked out of place, but so was she. And it felt right. The song softly began and she sighed.

'Des yeux qui font baisser les miens
Un rire qui se perd sur sa bouche
Voilà le portrait sans retouches
De l'homme auquel j'appartiens.'

(A look in his eyes I can't meet with mine
A laugh that gets lost on his lips
That's the unaltered picture
Of the man I belong to.)
