(Y/n) woke up groggily, as she felt the bed dip next to her. When she turned, blinking her eyes at the sudden light, she felt around the bed. She couldn't feel him. It wasn't unusual that Loki would wake up earlier than her, but he'd just leave the curtains drawn closed. So, sitting up, brows knitted as she eyed the figure on his knees, looking out the window, (Y/n) breathed out a sigh.

Scooting close to rest her head on the smooth skin of his back, (Y/n)'s hands wound around his waist and she pressed a kiss to the juncture of his shoulder, smiling against the cool skin as Loki sucked in a breath. "What's happenin', babe?"

Loki's head turned, revealing those lovely green eyes shining in the morning light. He was a sight to behold in the mornings, she realized. With the raven hair contrasting pale skin, he looked like a fallen angel. It was a pity she could never bring herself to wake up earlier than him. She was pretty sure he was making a competition out of it; who could wake up the earliest, but she was losing it in a long streak. Loki's lips stretched into a small smile, teeth nibbling at his bottom lip. "I'm not feeling very well today." He seemed distracted by the view outside.

"The truth now?" Her eyes flickered to the window. It was snowing softly, the city of Manhattan already covered in a blanket of white, powdery snow. Loki huffed, and when (Y/n) nuzzled her face into his neck, fingers stroking soothing lines onto his waist, he relaxed into her. "Is it because of the snow?"

A subtle nod was all she received. He stretched out an arm and pressed his palm to the glass surface of the window. Immediately, the cold seeped through, turning his skin blue rapidly, the color travelling up his arm before he pulled away and let it rest in his lap. "I can hold it in, but not for long."

He had long since shared his insecurities with (Y/n). It was one thing to be a redeemed hero in the eyes of the citizens. It was another thing to let himself transform into a Jotun in front of people. Not everyone was as understanding, and it put him off when he would receive those glares and scowls, those expressions of fear as if he was a bomb set to go off any second. (Y/n) understood completely, making sure to pull him away when he started picking at his left palm; a sure sign of his discomfort.

The Avengers had been planning a day out for weeks now, everyone working to clear their schedules for the day, and Clint was particularly looking forward to a day off after his last rushed mission. They had forgotten to account for the weather.

"You sure you can't come out?"

Loki paused. "I want to. Maybe I'll get better after some time?"

"Don't push yourself for it," (Y/n) said, tightening her hold around him. He was always so cold, like biting into a Popsicle. She was just lucky she had different genes to counter it, her unnatural body heat mixing with his cold to make it normal. It was another advantage; cuddling with him never got suffocating or hot. "We can work around it, babe."

He slowly turned around, smiling at her messy hair and sleepy expression. Loki pressed a hand to her cheek and when (Y/n) leaned into the sweet touch, his eyes flashed. He was a sucker for intimacy, if it were in private only. As if he had (Y/n) all to himself. He pressed closer to her, a cheeky grin forming. "I have another issue, something I'll need you to help with."

"Yeah? She asked in a half-daze, blinking up at him as Loki's hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her to his lap. Her eyes widened at the feeling of him under her. "Oh, I see. You'll have to convince me, darling."

Loki leaned further, brushing his nose against hers, the corner of his lips quirking when her breath hitched. He closed the gap between their lips, moving gently, the cold of his skin seeping through her loose shirt. (Y/n)'s hands curled around his neck, dragging him closer, sighing against his mouth. He pulled away slightly, noses brushing. "Did that convince you?"
