Clint scoffed. He was looking at the visual screen of his phone, grunting every once in a while. And although most of the Avengers developed the ability to tune out that Barton after a certain 'Cried Wolf' situation, it was starting to irritate Tony, who craved to know everything about everyone. The need doubled when he realized that it was Clint of all people.
Clint and Natasha were the most secretive people he knew. Surprisingly, Loki was much more open than them.

Tony looked up curiously. "What do you have there, Hawky?"

Clint ignored him, scrolled through and then let out another scoff. This brought everyone else's attention to him. And by everyone, it was only you, Thor, Loki, Steve, Pietro and Tony.

"Seriously. What do you have there?" You asked as you stood up and walked to him.

Clint shielded his phone away, and you tackled him in hopes of grabbing it. You kicked and pulled, and he did the same. But his protection over the phone was strong.

"Don't kick the face, (Y/n)!"

Natasha appeared out of nowhere and easily plucked his phone away, earning a shout of protest. You quickly untangled yourself from the lock that you had tried getting Clint into, and brushed yourself before walking to the group huddled around his phone.

You sat next to Nat and took a look, immediately snorting. "Really, Clint? You're researching haunted houses?"

Clint raised his hands in defense. "Hey, hey! It appeared as a notification on Twitter. It is apparently a new dare."

Loki looked interested. "Keep talking. "

And he did. "They say that those houses are one of the most haunted in America. The challenge is for a person to spend one night of their choosing in it. "

"And what's the prize?"

"That will be revealed after you successfully spend the night." Nat read out.

"Let's do it!" Loki said enthusiastically. Everyone else looked unsure, or paled at the thought of spending a night at the haunted house.

Natasha nodded with a smirk. "I'm in. How about you guys? Too scared?"
Steve, Pietro and Thor immediately joined in. Tony looked hesitant but then agreed after you gave the go sign. Only Clint was left.

Everyone looked at Clint, whose face was white but he tried to act natural. Letting out a few coughs, he nodded. "But which house?"

Loki's hand shot up. "I'm choosing this one-" he read out in such a tone that caused shivers to run down everyone's spines. "The House of Death, Brooklyn."

Everyone glanced at each other for confirmation. Then Steve said-

"How do we sign up?"

Tony drove the big car down the dark lane. The house loomed over with shadows everywhere, no lamp posts or any sort of external light except for the single flickering light bulb on the porch.

Loki definitely knew how to pick 'em.

The people in charge of the challenge had assigned the Avengers the house a day later, when the clouds were dark and there was modest rainfall. They wanted to challenge the Avengers with everything they got.

And right now, your toes were trembling as you watched Tony pull the car beside the old house. Everything else seemed so deafening, and you wanted to run away.
