Two months had passed, and (Y/n) had enjoyed it. It was such a free schedule for a job, and in her spare time she would roam the tower and spend time with the Avengers.

And sure, maybe it was a bit of a task to check after Loki all the time, but she had it covered.

At the most, Loki was only a nuisance when he kept teleporting without reporting in or playing jokes through his illusions. (Y/n) caught up to his tricks slower than she would've liked and he had taken great pleasure in rubbing it in her face.

And if Loki kept claiming that he would have his revenge for being treated like he was a baby needing to be watched over, (Y/n) would only pat his shoulder condescendingly and sip at her drink, murmuring, "you can do anything you put your mind to."

Needless to say, it pissed him off.

Reason one, it didn't strike fear into her after the first four times threatening the Avengers. And second, he hated that it would shut him up pretty easily.

It was vicious of her to use that messed-up reverse psychology that had him itching to throw a couch at (Y/n)'s face, and when he did, she was super nonchalant in ducking and rolling.

She did get hit in the face with a book once when Loki had a fit.

He despised the way Tony had jokingly brought a collar for him like a dog, and she was just in the way of his warpath.

Loki could still feel the cold feeling shuddering up his spine at (Y/n)'s reaction. With a cheek red from the hit, she looked up with eyes like ice chips. She didn't say anything, but that look had made him feel like he should grovel for forgiveness.

Loki had been too stubborn to apologize, but his temper had died down, so he had left the room feeling like she was about to pounce and stab him in the back.

(Y/n) didn't do it.

The next day, Loki found the black collar in the trash can and Tony came to apologize for the cruel joke.

Loki promptly sought (Y/n) out, asked her to forgive him, and felt surprisingly beeter when she had smiled at him and said, "just don't repeat it."

So, maybe sometimes her behavior confused him because one second she was snapping at him and breaking down his door to pull him out of his room after Loki had spent two whole days locked up.

Other times, they sat in the same room either ignoring each other in peace, and then the other times when she might do some acts of kindness that struck too close to his heart to be comfortable.

Still, something about her made him uncomfortable to actually be mean anymore. The threats died down considerably, something (Y/n) had a received a hug from Thor about.

The other Avengers kept warning her not to let her guard down around Loki, which (Y/n) looked like she considered seriously. But then she had smacked Loki with a pillow to give her room on the crowded couch, propping her feet on his lap, quirking a brow when Loki gaped.

Currently, (Y/n) was sitting at a desk in the library, checking the financials of the month. Loki was lounging on a comfy couch and reading a book in silence.

It was one of those rare moments they were both silent, and Loki had no choice but to be around her at that time because she complained about doing work that mattered compared to Loki-sitting.

Loki grew irritated as well, but they both settled into ignoring each other easily. However, right then, he wanted to strangle the woman because she kept looking at the computer and cursing out loud.

"What the hell?" (Y/n) whispered to herself. She checked again, eyes growing wide and furious. "Oh, oh, no, they didn't."

Loki looked up from his book. "Could you kindly shut up? Some of us are actually trying to relax."
