Chapter 6

Chapter 6- Why is she here?

Napa-ngiwi ako sa sinag ng araw na tumama sa aking mukha. I groaned as I stretched my arms. Tinanggal ko ang puting kumot na naka-balumbon sa akin.

"Ughh." I groaned then grabbed my phone which was placed on my table beside my bed.

Napa-nga-nga ako ng makita kong 7:00 AM na, and when I was about to rush towards the bathroom, I remembered Apollo. I bit my nails. Dammit. Now I have to wake him up, and tell him to go home. Bakit pa ba kasi siya dito natulog?

Bumuntong hininga ako at kinagat ang labi habang dahan-dahang pumapanik. Oh good Lord, ikaw na po ang bahala sa akin. My heart, beat wildly. 'Yung tipong para na ito lalabas sa aking katawa. Why am I even trembling like this?

Halos mangatog naman ako nang bumulagta sa akin si Apollo na naka-lean ang siko sa metal rails no'ng rooftop. His left hand's holding a can of Canada Dry and his perfectly-sculptured abs were exposed. Nalaglag ang panga ko at hindi alam ang sasabihin.

"I-I... uhmmm... B-Bye..." nanginginig kong sambit at hinawakan ang door knob.

But as is if like he was a lightning bolt, he held my arm and forced me to look straightly at him. His chocolate-coloured eyes thawed my heart. He took the words out of my mouth.

I mentally shook my head. Always remember that he's your fucking enemy, Yvanna.

I swallowed the lump inside my throat. "W-Wha... W-What?"

He tightened his grip on my arm and pulled me even closer to him. He smirked evilly and said, "Good Morning." he said, huskily.

Napa-nga-nga ako.

"You're drooling, missy." he arrogantly smirked.

My eyes widened, and realized what I've done. "What? A-Are you crazy? I... I'm not drooling."

He playfully shook his head, as he finished drinking his Canada Dry. He crumpled the can after he drank it. Then, he looked at me. "Yes, you are."

"I... I-I'm not!" I said, even if I know it was pointless.

He chuckled. "Stop denying it."

I gasped, and bit my lower lip. "Whatever. I... I have to go now. B-Bye..."

I breathe out heavily as I slowly walked downstairs. What's with his chocolate-colored eyes? What's with his devilish smirk? What's with his exposed abs that caught my fuckin' attention?

I swallowed deeply while slowly preparing all the foods, and when I was about to finish everything, I suddenly felt his presence behind me.

The devil's here.

"Nice food. Uncooked hotdogs and uncooked eggs." he said, with sarcasm.

I shook my head in disbelief. "Kung ayaw mo kumain, you can leave."

Tinitigan niya 'yon at nag-prito ng bago. Halos mabulunan ako nang mapansin kong topless padin siya. He wore a white apron and started frying another hotdog. Ni-hindi ko napansin na halos maubos ko na ang pagkain na niluto ko.

Why does he have to be this gorgeous?

Maski likod niya yata ay gwapo din. What else?

Pagkatapos niyang mag-prito ng dalawang hotdogs and eggs. Nilagay niya ito sa panibagong pinggan. Nilagay niya ang isa sa harap ko at 'yung isa sa kaniya. He even prepared coffees for us. Maski ang serving no'ng pagkain ay kinabog ang serving ng restaurant na kinainan namin kagabi.

"Stop eating that uncooked egg. Baka sakitan ka pa ng t'yan. Eat this." aniya.

I mumbled a simple "thank you" and started eating it. I cursed mentally. It's just a fucking hotdog and egg, but why is it so tasty?

Hours passed as we finished eating breakfast. He volunteered to wash the dishes. Pinayagan ko siya at mabilis akong gumayak. I wore a white mid-riff shirt and blue high waist-faded jeans. Nag-lagay lamang ako ng simpleng makeup at nag-half ponytail.

"Apollo, please move a little faster." I told him as soon as he finished washing the dishes.

"We have to stop at our house. I have to take a shower change my clothes." he answered back.

Napa-tango ako. "Of course. I'll drop you at your house, and you can just follow me there." I said, as I grabbed the keys from the drawer.

"Why should I follow you, when we can go there together?" aniya.

"What? Apollo naman. That would take a lot of time! Sayang ang oras!" I snapped.

"It's just a seminar, Miss Grey. I'm sure it's not that important."

Napa-awang ang bibig ko. "It's just a seminar. Yes. But it's important, very important to me. I'm not yet a full-time painter, Apollo. I still have to learn a ton of things."

"No, Luxien. You and I will go together." seryoso niyang sambit.

"No! Ugh, can you just please cooperate? May sasakyan ka naman, pwede ka namang sumunod! Or better yet, don't come. It's just a seminar, after all."

He glared at me. I bit my lower lip.

"Fine! You won! Ugh." I said, angrily.

"Di ka naman pala challenging. Suko agad." bulong niya, pero narinig ko padin.

"Excuse me? You don't have the right to tell me that. Minsan kailangan mo sumuko, dahil masasayang lang ang oras na ginagasta mo sa paglaban kung alam mong hindi ka naman mananalo." aniko. Na tigilan siya.

"Get in the car, and just shut your mouth. I don't need your opinion."

Awkwardness filled the whole car as I started the engine. My mouth pursed into a thin line, until I decided to open the radio.

Natigilan ako. 'Yan ang sitwasyon at naramdaman ko kaninang umaga. What a coincidence?

I turned off the radio. Nandito na kami sa subdivision

"Uhhm. Sa'n 'yung bahay mo?" I asked him

"Deretso lang, do'n." Sabi n'ya sabay turo sa emerald na bahay

"Saglit lang ako, Luxien. Wait for me, okay?"

"Oo." Tipid kong sagot

Habang nag-iintay ako sa kan'ya, may nakita akong aninaw sa side mirror ng car ko. Sinulyapan ko kung sino 'yon.

Bumaba na'ko ng sasakyan at pinuntahan s'ya. Puno ng puno ng confusion ang utak ko. Bakit s'ya nandito?

"Eliza?"

"A-Anong ginagawa mo d'yan?" She asked me. Ako pa talaga?

"I should be the one asking you that. Why are you here?" Pag babalik ko sa kan'ya ng tanong

"Answer me first." Pagpupumilit n'ya

"Ok. Fine. Dito nakatira ang partner ko sa career ko. I think that reason is enough. Ikaw? Bakit ka nandito?"

"W-wala.." She said then walked away

That's unfair. I told her my reason kung bakit ako andito pero s'ya hindi n'ya sinabi?
