"What do you want?" I asked, mad. "Kali. Come here." Lola said. I sighed and walked over to her. "I've always been here for you. You know that. I promised your mother I would be here for you. Kali, as mad as you are, you can't take your anger out on Alexis." She said. "Why was I a prisoner? Why didn't he love me?" I asked angrily. "Kali... You weren't a planned baby. Your father was married, and not to your mother." Lola said slowly. "So I wasn't wanted. He hated me, he hated my mother." I started to cry again. "Hon, your mother didn't die because of you." Lola said. "She died giving birth. She wasn't strong enough." I said. "No she wasn't. The lord abused her, he starved her, so no one would know she was pregnant. Kali, it was all his fault." I looked at her. "Why haven't you ever told me?" "I didn't want you to hate your father. But, you already do." She said. I dropped my gaze. "And one more thing Kali." "Yes?" "You remember that boy that you use to play with?" Lola said, hesitantly. "The one that disappeared when I was one?" I asked. "Yes. Kali, he wasn't just a friend. He is your step-brother."
