It was like mother like daughter. Katherine's mother was pacing back and forth this time by the foyer. She wasn't just worried. She was also angry that Chris hasn't come home or even contacted either of them. Actually, she was fuming and she had every reason to be.

Sighing, she finally sat down on the couch because her feet began aching. She looked around the room trying to think of what to do. There was only one thing that could help her. "Christopher, wherever you are, you better be ok or you're in trouble." She grumbled while grabbing a book.

It took her mind off of things for a while. Her thoughts were interrupted by loud crashing noises from upstairs. She looked up at the ceiling hearing footsteps and doors slamming. Completely startled, she dropped the book and reached for the phone to dial for the police. She only dialed two numbers before the sounds stopped her. More loud crashing noises sounded followed by a familiar voice screaming in a language that she couldn't understand.

"Christopher?" She yelled concerned. The mother quickly got up and rushed to the staircase. She nearly screamed when she saw black and red tumbling down the steps. He landed face-first on the ground. Chris painfully groaned and muttered something. She was in too much shock to move. Chris tried to raise himself up using his hands. He gave up after a few attempts and laid there sprawled out with torn black clothing, blood flowing everywhere, and his long hair covering most of his beaten face.

She looked up the stairs and saw a small trail of blood. "Christopher? What happened?" She finally approached and tried getting him to lay on his back. "I-I'm going t-to kill that motherfucker!" Chris gasped and forced himself to roll onto his back. A small silver cross with a chain was sticking out of his chest where his heart is. The mother covered her mouth in horror.

"Oh my god!" She stepped back and ran back into the living room where she dropped the phone. "I'm calling Katherine!" It took her a minute to find the small cellphone before grabbing it then back to where he was. "W-where is she?" He asked weakly. "Don't talk." She dialed the phone. Chris ignored her and kept asking sounding weaker and weaker.

A few seconds later, Katherine's voice was heard. "Hello?" Chris immediately looked at the phone when he heard her voice. "Katherine! Get home. Something's wrong with Chris." Her mother began sobbing. Too many emotions and thoughts were running through her mind. She put down the phone and sat next to him in shock. Both of them were unsure of what to do at this point.

"Christopher, please tell me you're not dying." She cried. "I'm not really alive to begin with." He let out a short laugh then groaned in pain again. "What happened?" She asked trying not to look at his chest. Chris forced himself to move to be propped up on the stair steps. He ran his fingers through his black hair to get the strands out of his face.

"Long story short, deal gone wrong." Chris groaned as he sat up. "Are you sure you're suppose to to do that?" She asked worried. Chris grasped what he could of the cross. A second later, he pulled as hard as he could. He clenched his jaw tightly and tried pulling again. The healing process was taking over, making the small object more difficult to get out. It took a few more painful tries until the cross was swinging by the chain.

He allowed the necklace to drop until it landed on a step. It was covered in more blood. Chris laid back down on his back. "Much better. It was starting to burn." She looked disgusted. He began bleeding even worse than before. At least there was something she could do now. "I'm getting a towel to help stop the bleeding." She quickly left again.
