"Katherine!" Gina cried out. Chris took a few steps towards his wife when the man took a run for it. Chris was still too quick for him. He grabbed the man by the back of the shirt and pulled him down to the ground and held him there.
"Girls, close your eyes." He looked at them until they both did. "What's going to happen?" The man asked fearfully. "I don't give a shit what happens to your soul after you're dead." Chris grabbed the front of the man's shirt and raised his upper body inches off the ground.
The man struggled to free himself but Chris was a lot stronger. "Your punishment is for thinking you could have gotten away with this." His eyes glowed a deep shade of red as he mentally searched the man's mind just like he did with his wife five years ago. Chris scoffed. "I'm so glad you won't be missed."
Chris slammed the man's head against the concrete floor. He groaned painfully. Chris growled and repeatedly banged the man's skull until there was a loud crack. "Can we open our eyes now?" Katherine asked wincing from the pain in her leg. "Not yet. I'm going to dispose of this piece of shit first." Chris said through gritted teeth.
After a few minutes of hearing noises they'd rather not think about, Chris said they could open their eyes. Katherine opened hers and Chris knelt down and tightly wrapped his jacket around her leg to stop the bleeding. His white shirt was missing so Chris was shirtless and all of his tattoos were showing.
Gina looked around. "Where is he?" She asked. Chris began untying them. "It's better that you don't know." Katherine looked in a corner and could faintly make out something covered in a white and red stained shirt. "Chris, what did you do?" She looked away in disgust after seeing nothing but a skeleton.
He finally got Gina untied. "I told you that I'd rip him from limb to limb. I have to get rid of the body too somehow." Chris licked his lips. Gina stood up quickly. "We need to get Katherine to the hospital."
Chris was about to pick Katherine up when the ground started shaking. "Fuck! Not now!" Chris yelled angrily. The ground began splitting in two and stoned staircases led down into a fiery pit. Katherine got up with his help and put all her weight on her good leg.
Chris quickly wrapped his tattooed arms around her to make standing a lot easier. Katherine buried her face in his bared chest and sobbed. "Please, don't go." Her voice sounded muffled. Gina stood back and watched while fighting back tears. She knew exactly how her friend felt when Lee left for the military.
"I'm sorry Katherine but I have to." Chris tightly wrapped his arms around her. "I want to go with." She hiccuped. "You've been shot. You need to go to the hospital." Gina said quietly. Katherine looked up at him with tears flowing down her face. Chris kissed her lovingly.
"I love you, Chris. I don't care what anyone else says but being with you has been the best thing that has ever happened to me." Katherine choked back another sob. "I love you too, Katherine. I'm glad to have met you. You've made me feel like my life has been worth living for three hundred years." It was Katherine's turn to kiss him one last time.
The room was becoming unbearably warm at least for the girls. Chris took a few steps back to look at his wife for what might be the last time. He gave her a small reassuring smile. "We'll meet again hopefully one way or another." Katherine slowly nodded and fought the urge to break down.
Chris made his way down the stone stairs and the ground began shaking and closed leaving the girls alone on concrete floors. Katherine collapsed on the ground crying. Gina grabbed the phone from the man's pocket and dialed the emergency number.
