Katherine woke up the next morning feeling tired even though she slept really good. She almost forgot she stayed over at her friend's house until she looked over to see Gina asleep next to her. Katherine also realized that after she looked around the different room. Sighing she got up and walked to the kitchen.
She started the coffee machine and while waiting for it to finish brewing, Katherine went outside into the backyard to get some fresh air. She sat down on one of the uncomfortable plastic chairs and buried her face into the palms of her hands. "Can I join you?" A familiar male voice asked. At first, Katherine jumped before being relaxed again.
Katherine looked over her shoulder to see Chris in all black leaning against the rail of the porch. She never seen him look so sad as he tried to not make eye contact with her. Katherine nodded then looked away. He sat next to her and rested his tattooed arms on the handle of the chair. "I know the last thing you want to hear is bad news." He said after a minute.
She looked at her fiancé. He immediately looked somewhere as if something interested him. "What is it now?" Katherine finally asked feeling unhappy. He barely looked at her. "We can't get married." Katherine blinked a few times in confusion. "What? Why not?" She nearly yelled if he didn't cover her mouth.
"You know how when people get married, they're supposedly become one soul together?" Chris asked. "I've heard that but what does that have to do with us?" Katherine asked confused. He finally looked at her and sighed heavily. "Well it's true. At least in a demonic marriage." Chris said sitting straight up to hear some kind of noise in the house. Gina must be starting to wake up. Katherine crossed her arms and stared at him.
"Once and if we do get married, you'll have some of my powers and I'll have something from you." Katherine was beginning to understand but one question would prove it. "It's because I'm lying to Gina, isn't it?" Chris nodded. "A demon cannot lie, or a loved one will die. It will apply to you too." Chris said unenthusiastic.
Katherine nodded and deeply thought. "I'm going to tell her." She finally said after a long time. Chris looked surprised. "Kat-" he began when she interrupted him. "I want to be married to you. I'd do whatever it takes." Katherine stood up and sat on his lap and kissed him. He pulled away in shock before bringing her back in to continue.
He wrapped his arms around her lovingly and because she felt cold from the morning air. Chris wished for once he felt warm as she slightly shivered. "I love you so much." She whispered when they came apart. "I love you too." Chris said and tightened his grip around her. "You're going to have a lot of fun telling her. Are you sure?" He whispered concerned. "I have an idea." She rested her head against his chest.

I'm sorry I haven't been updating. I've been really busy with work, starting a freelance makeup & hairstylist business, and setting up a store to start selling artwork. It's been a crazy few weeks and on top of that, I am still writing another story.
