Katherine got home and was greeted by her unusually more than happy mother. Her mother was smiling from ear to ear and was talking really fast. "We have so much to do! Oh, I know we'll get your hair and nails done then we'll get you a pretty dress!"

"Mom, calm down." Katherine laughed. "You're in a really good mood." Gina said walking in. Her mother looked shocked. "I thought I saw you leaving." Her mother said. "I've heard you settled on a date." Gina nodded.

Her mother hugged Gina. "If you need help with anything, please let me know." Gina smiled. "I will. I should get going. We're dress planning tomorrow, so if you want to come with." Katherine's mother nodded. "I'd love to."

The second Gina left, her mother grabbed her by the hand and pulled her towards the car. "Mom! What's going on?" She asked the second they started driving. "Chris told me he had something planned very special tonight." Her mother was smiling.

"Can I have a hint?" Katherine asked. "No because I'll be tempted to tell you as if I'm not already." Katherine looked at her mother. "He told you?" She tried to think of what it was. "More or less permission. Alright, that's your hint." Her mother parked in front of a salon.

After they both got their nails done and Katherine got her hair curled and makeup on, they went to a dress shop. Katherine bought an all black laced dress. It had long sleeves and was near floor length. The manager even through in a free pair of heels after her mother whispered what the special surprise was in his ear.

It was near midnight and Katherine was all dolled up and extremely anxious. They left after the dress shop and her mother was driving her to the address. Her mother parked in front of what was once a fancy restaurant. Katherine raised her now drawn on eyebrow. Her mother was grinning happily.

"Go in. He's waiting for you." Her mother tried shoving her out gently. "Aren't you-" Katherine asked. "No, I'm not going with! This is between you two. Have fun!" Katherine sighed and shut the door. Her mother drove off quickly. Katherine felt nervous and excited at the same time.

She walked up to the door and looked at the sign. It closed four hours ago even though it wasn't open for business anymore. "Chris, what do you think you're doing?" She whispered to herself before opening the door and walking in.
