***I'm going to warn whoever reads this that its going to be gross but I really like the symbolism behind my idea. Obviously this isn't going to be like typical wedding and I wanted to create something that's never been read before. Please DON'T actually do this if you decide to get married. I don't want to be responsible for something disease related ***

"What's the bad news?" Katherine asked hoping he was joking. "I never realized how different a demonic wedding compared to the typical wedding you're used to seeing." Chris gulped nervously. The two girls looked at each other then back at him. "How do you know how different it is?" Her mother finally asked.

Chris stood up from leaning against the rail of the balcony. "I-I actually spoke to the devil himself." He said hesitantly. "Well what's different about it? We don't say vows or exchange rings?" Katherine asked curiously then face palmed herself. "We forgot those, didn't we?" Her mother bit her nail trying to think of an idea for them.

He chuckled at her gesture but then grew serious again. "Yes to the vows but we don't exchange rings." His expression changed to looking doubtful. "Well what do we exchange?" Katherine had the feeling she wasn't going to like it. He inhaled deeply even if he didn't need to. Chris wouldn't blame her if she decided to change her mind. He was at least happy that the devil approved the marriage and Chris's deal with his past was indeed broken thanks to a someone telling a lie.

"We exchange blood." He said almost too quietly. Katherine blinked confused. "How and why?" Her mother looked slightly disgusted but curious at the same time. Chris reached into his pocket and pulled out a small pocketknife. "When we exchange blood, we're sharing a part of ourselves. This is how you'll get some of my powers and how I'll become half alive." Chris explained while fiddling with the knife.

Katherine let out a shaky breath. "Is this how it's usually done? You've been to a few." Katherine said. "I have but it was over a hundred years ago and it was different. I've been told by the ruler that's this is the new demonic marriage." Chris placed the knife back into his pocket. He waited a minute to say something.  "We don't have to tonight if you don't want to. We can wait and see if this is what we really want."

Katherine looked at her mother. She held her hands up. "It's your decision. I'm not stopping you." Katherine smiled then looked at her soon to be husband. "I want to tonight. If not now, then sooner or later. We've both made the decision a few minutes ago." She was right and at the same time, Katherine could understand now why there had to be an exchange of blood.

Chris smiled and took a few steps in front of her. "This is the most spontaneous thing I've ever done and I'm more than happy with my choice." He said honestly. Katherine took both of his hands and smiled. "That makes two of us." Her mother squealed with glee. "Let's get on with it then!" She said merrily.

The two laughed and looked at each other. Without taking his eyes off her, he reached back into his pocket and took the knife back out. Katherine could barely see him opening up the blade from the handle. She felt more excited than nervous. It felt like the right time for it to happen.

"Katherine Milford, in my three hundred and twenty-nine years of living, I'm so glad that I've fallen in love with only you. I can't wait to spend the rest of our everlasting life together." He pressed the tip of the blade hard against his left ringer until a large bead of blood appeared. Then he wiped his finger across his lips messily.

Katherine inhaled deeply then took the knife from him. "Christopher Motionless Cerulli, I can't imagine my life with anyone else besides you. You've shown me love and happiness that I don't think anyone would understand. I can't wait to spend the our life together by each each other's side." She pressed the blade against her left finger but winced for a second. It started hurting and throbbing.

"I'm sorry you had to feel that." He whispered sorrowfully. Katherine gave a smile. "It's worth it though." She wiped her finger across her mouth quickly. Chris's bloody lips were an inch away from hers. "I love you more than anything." He said quietly. "And I love you more than words can describe." She said before they leaned into one another.

They finally kissed as new husband and wife. Her mother clapped and cheered. "Finally! After five years." She said doing a little happy dance. Katherine gasped her last breath as her heart stopped beating. Chris began coughing as his heart began beating once again.
