The small restaurant was nearly impossible to see because there wasn't any streetlights on. However, white and red tea lights led a trail somewhere from a few feet outside the building leading in. Katherine followed until it led up to a staircase. Her heart was pounding with anticipation. She had her arms outstretched in the darkness and nearly tripped over her own feet trying to follow the little candles.

She carefully went up each step. Once she reached the top, she was glad the door was opened halfway. She pushed the door open and stepped outside. It was still warm out but there was a slight chilled breeze. There were a few clouds in the sky and the moon illuminated the rooftop just enough for her to see. Katherine walked to the center of the rooftop looking around curiously.

"Chris?" She spun around slowly, looking everywhere. Katherine stopped when she saw glowing red eyes over by the side of the door she walked out of. He was mostly in the shadows, barely noticeable. She had a happy smile on her face as she wondered what all of this was about. Her heart started pounding harder when Chris stepped out of the shadows.

He walked over with a smile and fixed his black tie. He was wearing his usual outfit of a suit, black makeup, and his hair as straight as possible. The moonlight made his lip piercings, shine like tiny silver fangs. Katherine walked up to him and hugged him. Chris lightly chuckled before pulling her slightly away.

Chris kissed her lovingly. "You look so beautiful, you could take my breath away if I had any and make my heart stop for a second if it was beating." He whispered in her ear. She adored his choice of words. Katherine pulled on his tie to kiss him back. "I love you so much." She whispered in his ear.

Chris wrapped his arms around her tightly. He couldn't take his eyes off hers. She was about to ask what this was all about when he already seemed to know what Katherine was thinking. Nervously, he got down on one knee and reached into his pocket. Katherine had to cover her mouth to keep herself from screaming with excitement. Chris laughed as he took whatever was out of his pocket.

"If you love me so much, would you spend the rest of eternity with me as my wife?" He held up a small box and opened it. Katherine started shedding a few tears out of happiness. "Yes, I would!" She laughed and tackled him into a hug. He purposely landed flat on his back and laughed. Tonight for the first time in three hundred years, Chris was the happiest he's ever been.

They roughly kissed each other before Katherine rested her head on his chest. "Believe it or not, demons do have marriages. I've been to a few myself including my friends Balz and Ryan Ashley." He said while twirling a strand of her hair. She sighed contently and closed her eyes enjoying the moment.

Her excitement was short lived at a thought. It would annoy her for who knows how long if she didn't ask. Katherine raised her head up to look at him. Chris looked at her curiously then sensed something was off. "You've been around for more than three hundred years. Can I ask how many times you've been married?" Chris looked at her with a soft expression.

"I've never been married when I was alive or after I changed because of that curse." He said honestly. Katherine smiled and her excitement came back. She pulled herself closer to his lips and kissed him. "I would like to get married as soon as we can." She said. Chris tightly wrapped his arms around her. He'd have to take care of a few things and a certain someone that could stand in the way of their marriage.

So he finally asked! Just wait until the wedding :)

I'm sorry I haven't been updating on Wednesdays. I've been busy going to classes to renew my cosmetology license....which I was finally able to! YAY!

Now that my classes are out of the way, I'll be getting back to uploading twice a week.
